Asked on January 29th, 2024Do you have e bikes with comfort seats available to use?

Our new fleet of Sinch e-bikes have Comfort Gel Dual density seats. You're welcome to bring your own seat covers on top and padded cycle pants are good too.

Traveler•Written February 2024Do your tours allow for one partner to ride and the other to travel by road at least on ocassions?
- Adventure SouthOperator•Written February 2024
The benefit of a guided trip does mean you have a support vehicle not far away throughout the day so if anyone wants to take a break in the van at any point, or even have a full or half day off, that's easy to accommodate. Guests are encouraged to ride at their own pace on our trips and the guides are experienced at managing riders at varying speeds with regular regrouping stops.

Asked on February 7th, 2023Are e-bikes an option? My husband is a serious biker, I am not. He is 52, I am 63!
- Adventure SouthOperator•Written February 2023
The tour price does not include bike hire, as people can actually bring their own bikes on our trips, otherwise Mountain Bikes are $150NZD or e-bike $500 NZD.

Asked on May 7th, 2022what month would be better for weather? are helmets and Panniers included? type of bikes—road, mountain bike or ebikes?
- Adventure SouthOperator•Written May 2022
The weather in NZ can be extremely changeable, and at any time you need to be prepared for sun, rain, wind and snow! November and March are both very nice months to travel, November is spring and it is warm, there can still be a dusting of snow on the tops of the mountains. March is warm and dry and the landscape can be more arid looking if the summer has been dry, but it is also a fantastic time to explore Otago. The Otago Central Rail Trail is unpaved and gravel, so we use mountain bikes for this tour. You can also hire e-bikes if you wish, we have both available. A saddle bag and helmet is provided with the bike hire.
