Right from the very start with a very detailed itinerary, with our very professional guides Nicki and Sarah, who made sure our cycling journey was enjoyable, fun, safe and a memorable experience. It was our first organised bike tour, and unsure what to expect. We were picked up in Queenstown, shuttled to Clyde, outfitted then shuttled to Cromwell to begin the adventure. The weather couldn't have been better, with the exception of a strong headwind to Middlemarch on day 4. All the accommodation was very comfortable and the food choices were great. Our bags were transported to the next accommodation without any issues. Our whole Otago Rail Trail ride went without a hitch, we had a terrific group of people on the ride, and Nicky and Sarah made sure we had everything we needed. Organisation, friendliness of staff, professionalism, safety and equipment. They have the complete setup from start to finish. We will be booking again with them.

    Asked on October 10th, 2024

Do you offer E bike to rent?

    Transport
    • Adventure SouthOperatorWritten October 2024

Yes we have ebike rental. Some considerations: Cyclists should have good road biking skills. E-bike battery typically has a range of about 80km. Our support vehicle will always be nearby. Road riding can be hazardous, so we recommend using our developed trail rides.

    Asked on November 23rd, 2022

Could you please advise what month the best time to visit New Zealand for cycling is?

    Tour Details
    • Adventure SouthOperatorWritten November 2022

New Zealand's climate is complex and varies from warm subtropical in the far north to cool temperate climates in the far south, with severe alpine conditions in the mountainous areas. In short November and March are the best times to be here. The warmest months are usually January or February. The coldest June/July/August. This is the reason why we operate our trips during the November-March dates.

    • Adventure SouthOperatorWritten July 2022

You can ride as little or as much as you like each day, and the support vehicle is never far away should you want to ride a shorter distance. We can match solo travellers together to twin share a room, but if you prefer to have your own single room, a supplement of NZ$895 is payable.

We will be able to fit you to a bike. Included in the tour cost, you will have a choice of a Trek 7500 or a low-rise/step through Trek 7300 – both are 27 gear bikes, or you can upgrade to a Trek 1.5 road bike.
