    Bangkok

    You'll arrive in Bangkok and head to your hotel to settle in. Later this evening, you'll meet your Travel Director and other travelers for drinks and local appetizers to kick things off.

  2. Day 2

    Bangkok

    Start with optional T'ai Chi practice at Lumpini Park with locals, or take a leisurely morning instead. Then you'll tour Bangkok's Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, Thailand's most sacred Buddhist temple. From there, check out the largest reclining Buddha at Wat Pho and get a traditional Thai massage. You'll return to your hotel by express river boat along the Chao Praya, passing Wat Arun on the way.

    Bangkok - Damnoen Saduak - Kanchanaburi

    Head out to Damnoen Saduak floating market and paddle through congested canals with friendly merchants selling fresh produce. You'll stop at a coconut palm sugar plantation to see how farmers extract sap for palm sugar. After lunch, you'll see the Bridge over the River Kwai and cross it yourself, then explore the Thailand-Burma Railway Museum to learn about the WWII railway. Before finishing, you'll pay respects at the War Cemetery.

    Kanchanaburi

    Visit Hellfire Pass, part of the Death Railway, to learn about what prisoners of war went through during WWII. After lunch, you'll take a train ride across wooden viaducts along the winding Kwai River, then walk across one of those viaducts yourself. This evening, you'll have dinner at a local restaurant.

After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll head back to Bangkok for your flight to Sukhothai, Thailand's first capital.

    • For any tour departing before March 20th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after March 20th, 2026, a minimum payment of $200 is required to confirm your booking with Trafalgar. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 95 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
