Itinerary
- Day 1
Sapporo
You'll land at Sapporo New Chitose Airport and head to your hotel from there. The Hokkaido Chuo Bus gets you into the city in about 1.5 hours, so take that directly to where you're staying and get settled in for the trip ahead.

Sapporo to Otaru and back
After breakfast, your guide picks you up and you'll take a train to Otaru (1 hour). Once there, walk around the historic canal with its old warehouses and those distinctive kerosene lamps, then check out Sakaimachi Street's century-old shops. You'll visit Kitaichi Glass Studio to see glassmaking up close, then stop by the Otaru Music Box Museum. For lunch or dinner, explore the Sushi Restaurant Street with over 20 options, then ride the Tenguyama Ropeway for views of the city before heading back to Sapporo.

Sapporo to Noboribetsu to Hakodate
Your guide meets you at the hotel for a 2-hour train ride to Noboribetsu. You'll take a taxi to Hell Valley (Jigokudani) to walk through the volcanic landscape and check out the hot spring spots around Oyunuma Pond and Little Pond. The walk to River Oyunuma Natural Footbath takes about 30 minutes, though there's a free shuttle if you prefer. After that, your guide takes you back to the station and gives you your train ticket to Hakodate on your own. Your new hotel is just 3 minutes from JR Hakodate Station.

Hakodate
You have a free day to explore Hakodate however you like. Most of what's worth seeing is accessible on foot through the streets and nearby landscapes, and since English-speaking guides are limited here anyway, you'll have total freedom to wander and find things on your schedule.

Hakodate
On your final day, walk 4 minutes from your hotel to Hakodate Station, then catch the Hakodate Teisan Bus straight to the airport (about 25 minutes). Safe travels home from there.
