- Day 1
Passau
You'll arrive in Passau and board your cruise ship for the start of your Danube journey. This university city has a nice mix of old-town character and ecclesiastical heritage, so there's plenty to see if you arrive early. Get settled into your cabin, then head up on deck as the ship departs and you begin cruising along the Danube for the first time.

- Day 2
Wachau - Vienna
The ship cruises through the scenic Wachau region during the morning, and you'll arrive in Vienna around 2:00 PM. After checking into your cabin, you'll have the afternoon and evening to explore Austria's capital. Walk through the museum quarter, check out the palaces and galleries, or catch a performance at the opera house if there's something on. The city has a real cultural depth that makes it worth spending time wandering around different neighborhoods.

- Day 3
Dürnstein - Melk
An early morning starts at 7:00 AM in Dürnstein, where you can walk through medieval streets and see the wine terraces that line the valley. The ruins of Dürnstein Castle are on a hill overlooking the town, and there's historical significance here from when King Richard the Lionheart was held prisoner. By afternoon the ship heads to Melk, where a massive Benedictine monastery sits high on a hill looking down over the UNESCO World Heritage Wachau valley. The setting is quite striking from the water.

Linz
You arrive in Linz at 7:00 AM and have the full day to see this modern Austrian city. The cultural scene here is strong with design-focused spaces and galleries. Stop by a local café and try the Linzer Torte, which is a traditional pastry that's basically a regional specialty. The ship won't depart until 7:30 PM, so you've got plenty of time to walk around and get a feel for the place before heading back onboard.

The ship arrives back in Passau at 7:00 AM, where your Danube cruise ends. You'll disembark and leave the ship, taking with you memories from a week of cruising along the river and visiting historic towns and villages along the way.
