  1. Day 1

    Bodrum

Your boat boards at 4 PM from Bodrum Harbor, but you've got time before then to check out Bodrum Castle and the Underwater Archaeology Museum on shore. Once you're onboard, dinner's waiting for you as the boat heads toward Karaada Island. You'll cruise through the evening toward those natural thermal springs the island's known for, so it's a good chance to settle in and relax after boarding.

Cnidus - Knidos - Palamutbuku Beach

Starting at Cnidus Harbor, you'll walk through what used to be a major Roman and Byzantine trading center. There's a 4th-century BC sundial here, plus a temple of Aphrodite and an amphitheater that's still standing. From there, you'll see the Ancient City of Knidos with its port streets, market area, and two theaters. Later in the day, head to Palamutbuku Beach for swimming and snorkeling. The local tea gardens nearby are good for grabbing a drink afterward if you want.

Datca is a small town with ancient Greek history scattered throughout. You'll wander the cobblestone streets with bougainvillea everywhere, then make your way to the tip of the Datca Peninsula. There's an old amphitheater and a temple dedicated to Aphrodite out there, and the Aegean waters around it are that clear blue you see in photos. I didn't know in advance that our drinks bill at the end of the trip had to be paid in cash. Would have been nice to know in advance.
