- Day 1
Arrival in Porto
You'll arrive in Porto and get settled into your riverview stateroom on either the S.S. São Gabriel or S.S. São Rafael. The ship is positioned right at the mouth of the Douro River, so you'll have nice views from your cabin. Take some time to get oriented on the vessel and familiarize yourself with the onboard amenities before dinner this evening.

Porto
Today you have two options for exploring Porto, Portugal's second largest city and the birthplace of Port wine. You can take a panoramic drive to see the main highlights from a vehicle, or join a guided walking tour if you prefer to experience the city streets on foot like a local would. Either way, you'll get a good sense of the city's character and layout.

Landmarks Porto - Day 3
Lamego
Start by visiting the Douro Museum to learn about Port wine's history and production. From there, head to the charming town of Lamego for a guided walking tour and a tasting experience. By evening, you'll head to a local quinta (a traditional Portuguese estate) for dinner, where you can enjoy local food and wine in an authentic setting.

You get to pick your adventure today based on what interests you most. One option takes you to Castelo Rodrigo, a medieval hilltop castle surrounded by a charming village with incredible views across the landscape. The other option is hiking to prehistoric carvings at the Archaeological Park of the Côa Valley if you're looking for something more active and archaeological.

Salamanca, Spain

Later in the day, you'll cruise through the UNESCO-protected Douro River Valley landscapes, seeing the terraced vineyards and natural beauty from the water.

Douro River Valley Wine Region
Today focuses on the wine culture of the Douro River Valley, where vines have been grown since Roman times. Both give you insight into how wine is made and grown in this region.

Departure from Porto
