Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Alta Pusteria
You'll arrive at your hotel in Alta Pusteria and get settled in. There's free public parking available near the hotel, so you don't need to worry about finding a spot. This gives you time to rest up before the hiking starts tomorrow.
- Day 2
Dreizinnenblick to Pragsertal
Your hiking tour begins at Dreizinnenblick. From there, you'll head uphill on an old First World War path through Helltal valley toward Strudelkopf (Monte Specie), then continue to Prätzwiese before entering Pragsertal valley. Throughout the hike you'll see Monte Cristallo, Tofana, and the famous Three Peaks in the distance. If you want an easier descent, there's a bus option available.

Pragser Wildsee through Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park
Today you start from Pragser Wildsee, a beautiful lake often called the Pearl of the Dolomites. You'll walk through the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park, one of South Tyrol's largest protected areas. The trail takes you into the shadow of the Seekofel massif as you reach Seekofelhütte at the highest point, then you'll pass by Senneshütte hut and Sennessee lake on the way down.

Prato Piazza to Cortina d'Ampezzo
You'll hike through Prato Piazza and descend via Knappenfuss valley to Gemärk, where South Tyrol meets Belluno province. From here you have options: take public transport straight to Cortina d'Ampezzo, or take a longer route through Ospitale and Passo Tre Croci. The Son Forca cable car is there if you want to skip part of the hike.

Landmarks Prato Piazza Passo Tre Croci - Day 5
Capanna Alpina to Cortina d'Ampezzo via Lagazuoi
This day starts easy with a walk along the valley floor to Capanna Alpina. After that, you'll hike under the Fanes and Conturines peaks toward Scottoni refuge and Lagazuoi lake, which has clear water perfect for a break. You'll follow the Dolomites High Trail to Lagazuoi itself, a historic WWI fortress with tunnels and trenches. To get back, you can either take the cable car to Falzarego Pass and then bus to Cortina, or hike below the Tofane to Pocol for another bus ride.

Three Peaks to Dobbiaco
A bus takes you up to Auronzo hut, which sits right below the Three Peaks, a fierce WWI battleground between Italy and Austria-Hungary. From there, you'll have a leisurely hike down Rienza Valley to Dreizinnenblick, then take the bus back to your hotel in Dobbiaco. If you prefer something even more relaxed, you can walk around the Three Peaks instead and catch the bus directly from Rifugio Auronzo.
