Itinerary
- Day 1
Tenerife to San Sebastián de La Gomera
You'll fly into Tenerife South Airport and catch a bus down to Los Cristianos port. From there, board the Fred Olsen ferry for a 50-minute crossing to San Sebastián de La Gomera. Someone will meet you at the dock and drive you to Hotel Jardin Tecina, where you'll settle in for the week.

- Day 2
San Sebastián de La Gomera
Your ASI guide meets you at 09:00 for an orientation, then you're off on your first hike. The route takes you up an old mule track that passes abandoned farms and terraces with views looking down into gorges, out to the coast, and across to Mount Teide. You'll climb to about 900 meters elevation, spending a full day moving through the landscape.

San Sebastián de La Gomera
Today you're hiking through the Vallehermoso basin on the northwest side of the island. The trail descends through valleys with unusual cliff formations and deep gorges, then you'll take a break at the plaza before heading up the old connecting path past Roque Cano. As you climb, the vegetation shifts from dry scrub to the thick, green Monteverde forest.

San Sebastián de La Gomera
This is the big summit day. You'll start at Fortaleza de Chipude, the sacred table mountain that was important to indigenous people, then make your way to Garajonay at 1,487 meters. From the top, you get panoramic views stretching to Tenerife, La Palma, El Hierro, and Gran Canaria on clear days.

- Day 5
San Sebastián de La Gomera
You're trekking through dense laurel forest with ferns, lichens, and mosses covering everything, following the Arroyo del Cedro stream that flows year-round. You'll pass the Ermita de Lourdes pilgrimage chapel and walk through the old settlement of El Cedro, then make a steep descent past a waterfall as you drop into the barranco.

San Sebastián de La Gomera
Starting in Arure, you descend 300 meters over a gentle ridge with views toward La Palma and El Hierro. After that, the path gets steeper as it heads down toward the harbor. At the bottom, there's a local pub where you can grab fresh fish for lunch, and then you have the choice to swim in the Atlantic or catch the scheduled ferry back to your hotel.

Landmarks Arure La Palma Island El Hierro Island - Day 7
San Sebastián de La Gomera
This hike is just 20 minutes from your hotel, so it's a good option for a shorter day. You'll descend through the small hamlet of Targa into a barranco with rugged terrain and impressive rock formations. After that, you climb back up past some great viewpoints before reaching the village of Imada, which sits in the middle of wild, undeveloped landscape.

San Sebastián de La Gomera to Tenerife
After breakfast, you'll transfer by bus and ferry back to Tenerife Airport for your flight home. Look for Autobuses Mesa signage at Los Cristianos harbor to make sure you're on the right transfer for the airport.
