This was a tour that packed a lot in. There was a lot of travelling and long days on the truck but the game viewing was worth it eg lions, a leopard, hippos, zebra, etc. Our guide was great, totally unflappable but more information regarding the day’s itinerary would have helped so we could plan what to eat for lunch, what to wear and when to charge camera batteries etc. But that’s only a minor gripe. The camping was better than expected, with no mosquitos or other creepy crawlies. The camp beds were too big for the tents and it was difficult to zip them up but Karabo, our guide, arranged to have the bed frames cut down slightly which helped a bit. Not sure why Intrepid didn’t test them out first! The food was great, with only one meal not to my taste (oxtail stew). the trip was, overall, a brilliant experience which has given me a taste for more of Africa’s wildlife.

This is my second intrepid trip and we have been able to experience the countries in a way we never would have on a “usual” holiday. The staff have also been incredible.I felt however that this trip was more basic than I was expecting from the description.I was not expecting every night to be under canvas and had selected this holiday at “discovery” level from my experience of a same level holiday in Asia.Perhaps your information could highlight to customers that same levels of holiday will of course vary from country to country!

I really like smaller group tours. The fact that Intrepid also uses local transport (where suitable), eats at local restaurants and gives back to local communities really appeals to me. There's a feel-good sense that I get when travelling with Intrepid.
