Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes to Zadar
Head out early for Plitvice Lakes National Park, where you'll spend the day walking around the 16 interconnected lakes and forest trails. Later you'll drive to Zadar and check in, leaving your evening free to walk through the old Roman city and grab some fresh fish at one of the waterfront restaurants.

Zadar to Šibenik to Split
Start your morning with a walk along Zadar's promenade and listen to the sea organ playing. From there you'll drive to Šibenik to tour the UNESCO-listed St Jacob Cathedral and explore the old town, then climb up to St Michael's Fortress for views across the region. You'll continue to Split for check-in, with free time to get familiar with the city afterward.

Split
Spend the day in Split checking out the old town and walking through the basement levels of Diocletian's Palace. Grab coffee on the riva like locals do, or if you want a short drive, head to nearby Trogir to see the UNESCO-listed medieval streets and historic buildings there.

- Day 5
Split to Opatija
After coffee in Split this morning with a view of the Dalmatian coast, you'll drive to Kvarner Bay and arrive in Opatija, an elegant seaside town where you'll stay for the rest of your time here.

- Day 6
Opatija
Take a walking tour along the Franz Joseph Promenade, which runs through Lovran and Volosko with beautiful coastal views. You'll visit Villa Angiolina and the surrounding park plus Hotel Kvarner to learn about Opatija's Austro-Hungarian history, then stop for coffee at the historic Café Imperial. If you want, there's time to visit nearby Rijeka and see Trsat Castle from above the town.

Opatija to Istria
Take a full-day trip to Istria, starting in the coastal town of Rovinj with its narrow streets and harbor views. You'll climb to the Church of St. Euphemia for views across the coast, then head inland to Motovun, a hilltop medieval town known for truffles and beautiful landscapes. After exploring and trying local food and fresh fish, you'll return to Opatija by late afternoon.
