Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival
You'll make your way to the hotel on your own schedule. Your Holiday Director will be there this evening to meet with you and go over how things will work during the trip.
- Day 2
Mount Etna and Taormina
Take the cable car up Mount Etna, Europe's tallest active volcano at about 3,329m high, for views across Sicily. After that, head to the clifftop town of Taormina where you'll see the Greco-Roman theatre overlooking two bays.

Free Day or Syracuse Excursion
You have a relaxed day here. Spend time at the hotel or walk down to the nearby beach if you prefer. There's also an optional guided trip to Syracuse where you can check out the old town of Ortigia and have time to wander around on your own.

Villa del Casale
Visit Villa del Casale just outside Piazza Armerina, a 4th century Roman villa that's a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll see the richest and most complex collection of Roman mosaics in the world here, spread throughout the site.

Palermo and Monreale Cathedral
Explore Palermo, Sicily's capital, and see its mix of Arabic and Art Nouveau architecture. Stop at a local café to try authentic Sicilian street food, a tradition going back centuries. Then visit Monreale Cathedral, one of the finest examples of Norman architecture, and walk through to see the golden paintings and mosaics inside.

Landmarks Monreale Cathedral - Day 6
Agrigento and Valley of the Temples
Spend time in the ancient town of Agrigento and learn about Sicily's Greek history. On the optional excursion, a local guide will take you through the Valley of the Temples, one of the greatest examples of Greater Greece's art and architecture.

Cefalù and Farewell
Check out the seaside town of Cefalù sitting on a rocky headland with sandy beaches. Walk around this fishing port and visit one of Sicily's finest Norman cathedrals, which has some of the island's earliest and best preserved Byzantine mosaics. By evening, you'll gather with everyone for a farewell dinner.
