- susanne· March 17th, 2025If I could give the team that made this incredible trip possible 10 stars I would!! What an incredible week we had thanks to Maurizio, Vincenzo, Manuela and Claudio. The terrain we hiked and biked through was beautiful and the stories and information Vincenzo and Manuelo shared on our journeys was informative and interesting and made everything come alive. I know this sounds corny (especially coming from a jaded New Yorker) but I felt like I was spending time with new friends who wanted to show me all the amazing things their region had to offer. The hotels we stayed in were small establishments where we met the owners who were the same people who cooked incredible meals for us each night. I did not feel like a tourist and that is no small feat. We will definitely be back for the tour of southern Sicily next year.Show more
- Tilo· April 10th, 2023I did the Etna tour. I very much appreciated the switch of hiking and biking that allows one to visit different locations. For me the whole trip turned out to be very well-organized and fun of course. I've read some of the previous comments. However, judging by the three different guides I had on my tour I cannot confirm that there are problems with the English. You may find that the personnel of your accommodations is a bit more limited in which case your guides can help you out if need be. A found it a huge plus that the reorganisation of trips went smooth and easy when the wheather conditions (my trip was early April) required adjustment of plans, so no worries here. Do I need to comment on the food? I'd say no, it is Sicilia after all. You probably know what to expect from proper Italian food. In case you don't - try and find out, you won't be left dissappointed.Show more
- Matt· May 3rd, 2022The tour route was great. A fantastic experience. The guide was a decent chap but we did expect someone with a better grasp of English and more information on the places we visited.Show more

Asked on February 28th, 2023I'm wondering about how physically challenging a trip like this would be since it seems to be open to all ages. I'd like a little more information about the terrain you travel; are the roads narrowing, are they mountainous? Any information of this sort would be appreciated.
- Etna Bike ToursOperator•Written March 2023
This tour is a medium/easy level mostly on off-road trails with some short, challenging uphill and downhill parts. It's suitable for cyclists who are reasonably fit and are used to biking for up to 3 hours a day.

Traveler•Written March 2023Physically I would be able to take this tour but my concerns are with I guess what you would call depth/perception. I traveled to the Amalfi Coast years ago (by bus) and was stricken with vertigo due to the hilly drive. Can you describe how steep going downhill/uphill it would be and are the roads narrow or are we on full roads?
- Etna Bike ToursOperator•Written March 2023
The roads are full roads with occasional narrower country roads but no steep drops or canyons like the Amalfi coast.

Traveler•Written September 2023Can you give me ideas as to what to expect and what to wear. Our tour starts on 22 September. So I'm packing bike shorts, sneakers and a rain jacket. Should I be thinking sweatshirts or t shirts? Any advice you offer us appreciated.
