    Frankfurt to Mainz

    You'll arrive in Frankfurt and then transfer to the Emerald Cruises Star-Ship waiting in Mainz. The captain and crew will greet you as you come aboard, and you'll have the rest of the day to settle into your cabin and get familiar with the ship.

    Rheingau

    This morning starts with an active hike through vineyards leading up to the Niederwalddenkmal monument, which overlooks the Rhine Valley and offers great views of the region. After lunch, you'll head to Schloss Johannisberg Winery in the Rheingau area where they focus on Riesling production and you can see the vineyard landscape from there.

If you'd rather be more active, you can hike up to Landshut Castle Ruins which sits on a rocky ledge with nice views of the area.

    Trier, known as the 'Rome of the North,' dates back to Roman times in the late 1st century B.C. During the guided tour, you'll see the ancient city baths and the Porta Nigra, which is the best-preserved Roman city gate you'll find north of the Alps.

    Cochem

    Cochem has a lot of history to take in with its well-preserved town wall and fortifications on the guided tour. Alternatively, you can cycle through scenic vineyards and along the riverside pathways instead. By evening, you'll have time to visit the Imperial Castle which sits above the Moselle River valley.
