- Day 1
Chiang Mai to Pai
After your hotel pickup in Chiang Mai, the drive north toward Pai starts with a stop at Mae Malai market where you can sample local foods and try exotic fruits. From there you'll reach Pong Deuid hot springs, where natural pools sit in a wooded valley and give you a chance to swim and relax. Next comes the historic Pai Memorial Bridge from World War II, then lunch at a local restaurant before arriving in Pai itself. You'll spend the afternoon walking around this hillside town, and if the weather cooperates, catch the sunset at Pai Canyon for views out over the valley. Your evening is free to wander the walking street market and grab dinner wherever appeals to you.

- Day 2
Pai to Mae Hong Son
You'll start after breakfast by checking out the local market, then head toward Mae Hong Son. The route includes Ban Jabo village where you can observe the Black Lahu community in traditional dress and see their wooden instruments. After that, Ban Tham Lod becomes your next stop for a bamboo raft experience through the caves, traveling roughly 1,600 meters total while cruising an inland lake surrounded by limestone and prehistoric coffins. The cave passage itself winds about 500 meters through the formations. Following lunch along the way, you'll arrive in Mae Hong Son and visit three temples near Jong Kham Lake: Wat Chong Kham (dating to 1827 with a 5-meter Burmese Buddha statue), Wat Chong Klang (built in the 1860s), and Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu which overlooks the city from above.

Mae Hong Son
Your morning begins with a boat tour along the Pai River to see the scenery and watch traditional riverside life. Then you'll visit the Long-Necked Karen village where the women wear those distinctive brass neck rings. After lunch at a local spot, head to the Su Tong Pae Bridge, which happens to be Thailand's longest bamboo bridge. The day continues to Baan Rak Thai Village right on the Thai-Myanmar border with a large lake nearby. You'll finish by heading to Baan Ruam Thai, a peaceful Shan village also called Pang Oung, located in rugged mountains surrounded by pine forest and winter flowers.

Mae Hong Son to Chiang Mai
Leaving Mae Hong Son early, you're heading south toward Mae Chaem starting with Doi Inthanon National Park, home to Thailand's highest peak at over 2,565 meters/8,415 feet. Walk along nature trails and take in the views from the top, then explore the two Royal Pagodas: Napamaytanidol and Phra Mahatat Napaphon Bhumisiri, both built to mark the King's and Queen's 60th birthdays. You'll check out the Royal flower garden next, and stop at the hill tribe market to see local farmers selling flowers, vegetables, and other products. Before heading back to Chiang Mai, you'll see Vachiratharn Waterfalls, one of Thailand's largest waterfalls that flows year-round. By late afternoon you'll be back at your hotel or ready for airport transfer.
