Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Negombo
You'll land at Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport where your guide meets you. From there, it's about a 20-minute transfer to Negombo, a coastal town on the west coast. After checking into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to unwind however you like—head to the pool, relax in the garden, or take a walk on the beach. Later in the evening, your guide will go over what's coming up on the tour.

Negombo to Kandy via Pinnawala and Peradeniya
Depart Negombo at 6:30 AM heading inland toward Kandy. Your first stop is Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage where you'll watch elephants bathing and feeding in the river. From there, you'll visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, which covers 147 acres with over 4,000 plant species. You'll reach Kandy in the afternoon for a guided walk around Kandy Lake and the surrounding town. Later, see a cultural dance performance and visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, which holds significant religious importance.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya by Scenic Train
After breakfast, head to Kandy Railway Station to board one of the scenic train routes to Nanu Oya. The journey takes you through tea plantations, misty mountain landscapes, and small villages. You'll arrive around 2:00 PM and transfer to your hotel in Nuwara Eliya, a town with strong colonial character. In the evening, visit Victoria Park, take a boat on Gregory Lake, explore Seetha Amman Temple with its colorful architecture, then meet with your guide to plan the next day's activities.

Nuwara Eliya Exploration and Horton Plains
Start early at a local tea factory to learn how tea is processed and try your hand at picking it yourself. Then walk through Nuwara Eliya town to see the colonial buildings and architecture. If you're interested, you can visit Horton Plains National Park, where you'll see the World's End cliff face (900 meters high), Baker's Falls, and mountain wildlife. The route also includes Ambewela Farm, Hakgala Botanical Garden featuring orchids and spice plants, and another look at Gregory Lake.

Nuwara Eliya to Ella by Scenic Train
Board the scenic train from Nanu Oya to Ella in the afternoon, departing around 1:30 PM. The route winds through tea plantations, misty mountains, tunnels, and across bridges with green valleys all around. Once you arrive and check into your hotel in Ella, you'll have time to visit the Nine Arch Bridge, hike up Little Adam's Peak for views of the Ella Gap and valleys below, check out the Ella Gap Viewpoint, and see Ravana Falls, which is one of Sri Lanka's widest waterfalls.

- Day 6
Ella to Tissamaharama
After breakfast, you're heading from the cool highlands down to the warm, dry lowlands. Stop at the Ella Gap Viewpoint where, on clear days, you can see all the way to the southern coast. Then visit Ravana Falls. As you travel through Wellawaya, Buttala, and the Wilahara area toward Yala, you'll pass through rural villages, rice fields, and roadside markets. You might even spot wild elephants on the road. By evening, you'll check into your hotel in Tissamaharama and prepare for an early safari tomorrow.

Yala Safari and Transfer to Mirissa
Start before dawn for an open-air jeep safari in Yala National Park. You'll search for Sri Lankan leopards, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and over 130 bird species. Yala has the highest leopard concentration on Earth. After the safari ends, you'll have a traditional lunch. Later, travel south toward Mirissa, a beachside town. Once there, spend the afternoon relaxing at your hotel—swim, walk the beach, or just soak in the coastal atmosphere.

Mirissa Whale and Dolphin Watching
Leave early for a whale and dolphin watching boat trip off Mirissa's coast into the Indian Ocean. You're likely to see Blue Whales, Bryde's Whales, Sperm Whales, and other species, along with Spinner Dolphins, Bottlenose Dolphins, and sometimes sea turtles or manta rays. November to April is the best season for sightings. After returning, visit Wella Devalaya Temple in Unawatuna and see the famous stilt fishermen in Weligama. Back at your hotel by afternoon, you can relax on the beach, swim, grab coffee at a cafe, or just listen to the waves.

Mirissa to Ambalangoda via Galle and Coastal Attractions
After an early breakfast, leave Mirissa and head along the southern coast toward Ambalangoda. Visit Galle Fort, a UNESCO site mixing European and South Asian architecture built by the Portuguese and later fortified by the Dutch. Stop at Meetiyagoda Moonstone Mine to see how semi-precious gems are extracted. Take a river safari on Madu Ganga, a wetland with mangrove forests and small islands hosting 300 plant and 250 wildlife species. See Castle Farm to learn about local farming, then visit the Mask Museum in Ambalangoda where artisans create traditional masks. End the day at a turtle conservation center learning about sea turtles and their protection.

Ambalangoda to Negombo via Colombo
After breakfast, depart Ambalangoda for Negombo, traveling through Colombo along the way. See the Independence Memorial Hall, Galle Face Green, the historic First Parliament Building (now the Presidential Secretariat), and Gangaramaya Temple. Check out the Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct with cafes, boutiques, and galleries. Continue to Negombo, a laid-back beach town on the west coast with golden sand beaches. Spend the evening at leisure—relax by the water, have dinner with an ocean view, or simply unwind by the shore.

Departure from Negombo

You'll leave with memories of the cultural sites, natural landscapes, and local warmth experienced throughout your trip.
