- AFAntony· February 26th, 2024The highlight of the highlights was Luang Prabang. One great feature for me was the caring attitude of so many of the group for each other.Show moreExplore! commented on this reviewThrilled to hear Luang Prabang was a highlight! The caring attitude within the group was a special feature, and we're glad it enhanced your experience. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon!Trip date: February 2024
- AChristine· March 24th, 2023As this was my first trip with Explore - all of it was a highlight but my once in a lifetime experiences was the tubing and kayaking. Unfortunately I'm also having to accept 'old age' as 328 steps to the top of Phoussi hill was beyond me but I got some wonderful pictures of the sunset over the Mekong river. The free time allowed me to experience some excellent (though painful) massage treatments. Already planning my next trip to Cuba with Explore.Show moreTrip date: March 2023Review collected by Explore!

- AAnonymous· February 1st, 2023If you're in your mid-20's to 40's, you will not be getting the experience we expect. The tour is basic tourist stops and is designed for those who are retired. The restaurants advised were overpriced and touristy, we did not have an accurate copy of the itinerary and the guide arranged optional activities that would appeal to the main demographic of the group - retirees. The last hotel in Luang Prabang was a pit. I had a broken faucet handle, a missing towel bar - previously ripped off but not replaced - what appeared to be mouse dropping on the bathtub with a little spider and cobwebs and a stained/rusted tub. I left the tour 2 days early to actually enjoy the rest of my time in Luang Prabang - a city I love - on my own terms. You do not need a tour to see Laos. I had more fun on my own meeting different people than I did with the activities arranged by Explore. Travelling with retirees - while everyone was nice, this is not my demographic and therefore was less enjoyable than being able to relate to people who are at the same place in life that I am.Show moreExplore! commented on this reviewThanks very much for taking the time to feed back to us after your trip to Laos. - EEdwardWarans· February 22nd, 2020A good overview and relaxed. However, a lot of 'free time' and insufficient direction if an inexperienced traveller and expecting help from Explore! Early starts seemed unnecessary to race back for more free time.Show moreExplore! commented on this reviewHi Edward, thank you for your review. - AGillian· May 17th, 2019I think the trip could be extended as there is a lot to see and do in Luang Prabang and not enough time to fit it all in. Have a 10 day stay in Laos not 8 days.Show moreExplore! commented on this reviewThanks for your review and feedback.Trip date: January 2018

Asked on April 26th, 2023Do you do any tours during August? We are looking at visiting around the 13.8.23. Also could you please tell me what the Covid requirements are if there are any.
- Explore!Operator•Written April 2023
Laos has two main distinct weather patterns: hot and wet (May–October), and cooler and dry (November– April). Generally speaking, the best time to visit Laos is November–January. We operate our trips October - February.
