- Day 1
Cairns to Cooktown
Start your journey through the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest heading toward Cooktown. You'll begin with a 1-hour wildlife cruise on the Daintree River, where you can spot crocodiles and various bird species from the water. After that, grab lunch in a rainforest setting before taking a guided walk at the Marrdja Boardwalk to get up close with the ancient forest ecosystem. Next, you'll head to Cape Tribulation Beach to see where the rainforest meets the reef. The route continues on the famous 4WD-only Bloomfield Track, which is rough and scenic. By evening, you'll arrive in Cooktown and finish with a Welcome to Cooktown dinner to meet other travelers.

- Day 2
Cooktown
This morning, take a guided tour through Cooktown to learn about the town's cultural heritage and history. You'll see the original anchor from the HMS Endeavour at the Cooktown Museum, then visit the Cooktown Cemetery to explore the graves of early settlers. Next, head to the National Trust Listed Reconciliation Rocks, which marks the first recorded act of reconciliation between First Nations people and early European settlers. From there, stroll through the historic Cooktown Botanic Gardens to wind down and enjoy the local flora.

Cooktown to Cairns
Travel through the outback back toward Cairns with several stops along the way. Early on, you'll pass Black Mountain and Byerstown Lookout, where you can see giant termite mounds and wide views of the outback savannah country. Stop at the Palmer River Roadhouse for a break, then continue to Skybury Coffee Plantation, Australia's oldest coffee plantation, for lunch. After lunch, head to Din Din (Barron Falls) Lookout in Kuranda National Park for views of the falls. Your final stop before returning to Cairns, Northern Beaches, and Port Douglas is a guided walk at Cattana Wetlands to observe local wetland ecosystems.
