Queensland Tours & Trips
Queensland's got three things keeping people coming back - the Great Barrier Reef for diving, Daintree Rainforest for wildlife, and Fraser Island's unique ecosystems. Northeast Australia where ancient rainforest literally meets the world's biggest reef system around Cairns and Port Douglas. That tropical environment from Whitsundays to Cape Tribulation creates natural variety that's genuinely hard to beat.

I throughly enjoyed my tour from Brisbane to Cairns. The group was mixed ages and all were great company. The tour took in all the best bits of the journey north with the whitsunday islands being my favourite, there’s plenty of free time and Justin our guide was great fun. Definitely recommend and will be looking for another tour down under soon.

Caro is an amazing tour guide. Always has positive vibes and crazy energy! Never a dull moment with her around! Would never want another one unless it's Caro. The trip was amazing and so much fun! I have been pushed to do the things I never would have done myself, I am so thankful for booking this tour. I have made friends for life. I'm so deverstated it's all over now. Thank you!!!

After two months of independent travel in Australia and NZ which I loved but sometimes also found a bit tiring I booked this tour as my very first 'everything's pre-organised/ you don't have to worry about ANYTHING' deal and to be honest I was very sceptical first whether took the right decision. In retrospect it was the best decision made at this stage of my travels. I was accompanied by some amazing guide (SHOUT OUT TO QUEEN B) and met a very colorful bunch of people while traveling the fantastic East Coast. I loved it!

- Winter 2025 / 2026
Winter tours between Brisbane and Cairns really shine during the dry season from June through August. Most people choose the longer 5-6 week packages since they give you proper time at each stop. You'll kick off with surf lessons at Byron Bay before heading up to K'gari (Fraser Island) where our travelers love taking the 4x4s out on those long beaches and cooling off in the crystal-clear freshwater lakes. The Whitsundays portion works perfectly in winter - the seas are calmer and the water visibility is great for snorkeling. Many people on our tours spend extra time around Mission Beach and Magnetic Island, where you can spot wild koalas, wallabies and native birds in the cooler weather while staying in beachfront rooms or those charming island bungalows.

- Spring 2026
Spring hits the sweet spot for east coast trips, particularly March to May when water temps are just right for reef activities. Our most popular tours mix city time in Brisbane with outdoor experiences - you'll do morning yoga on Byron Bay beaches, paddle through Gold Coast mangroves and walk Noosa National Park's trails looking for koalas. The multi-week packages let you properly explore different parts of the Great Barrier Reef with snorkeling stops at various outer reef spots. Our customers tell us spring gives them the best of both worlds on Fraser Island and the Whitsundays - warm days for activities but comfortable nights for sleeping under the stars.

- Summer 2026
Our summer tours between Brisbane and Cairns showcase Queensland's finest outdoor experiences, with the East Coast packages hitting their stride during peak season. The Great Barrier Reef snorkeling puts you in the water with 1,500 fish species and countless coral varieties, while further inland you'll venture through Mount Isa's mining tunnels, discover dinosaur prints at Lark Quarry, and explore the vast Undara lava tubes dating back 190,000 years. Cultural connections run deep as Aboriginal guides in the Daintree share wisdom passed through generations. Most travelers choose our longer 20-35 day journeys, combining surf sessions at Byron Bay, naturalist-led walks in Noosa National Park and, of course, sailing among the Whitsundays' 74 islands. The experience becomes complete with morning yoga on Byron's beaches, kayaking through Gold Coast mangroves and extended visits to outer reef sites, where summer brings peak visibility beneath the waves.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Autumn brings excellent conditions for complete east coast experiences. The longer 28-day and 5-week journeys are popular this time of year since you get fewer crowds and really pleasant temperatures. Our most requested tours start in Sydney and head north, mixing surf lessons at Byron Bay, close encounters at wildlife sanctuaries and guided walks through the rainforest. People who travel with us really value the extended time at Fraser Island and the Whitsundays during autumn - the weather's perfect for 4x4 driving, camping and also sailing. It's also an ideal time to visit Mission Beach and Magnetic Island where you can spot native wildlife and enjoy quiet beaches while staying in nice beachfront accommodations.

What's the Best Way to Experience the Great Barrier Reef?
Cairns is really your main jumping-off point for the reef and there's quite a few ways to explore it. You can do day cruises where you'll get to snorkel dive or see everything from a glass-bottom boat which is pretty cool. The Pro Sail trips are amazing especially their 3-day Whitsunday Islands adventure where you'll hit up to 4 different snorkel spots and get to check out the stunning Whitehaven Beach. If you want something really special try an intro or certified dive on the Oz East Coast Adventure 28 Days tour it includes a full day out on the water with some unique outer reef spots you won't find anywhere else.
What Cultural Experiences Can You Join in Queensland?
There's some really authentic Aboriginal experiences you can get involved with all over Queensland. In the Daintree you can join these fantastic walks with Kuku Yalanji guides who'll show you all about bush tucker and traditional medicine. Over on K'gari which most people know as Fraser Island you can be part of Welcome to Country ceremonies with the Butchulla people it's actually included in the Brisbane to Cairns Experience tour. Mungalla Station's another great spot where you'll learn about Nywaigi history and culture through their tours and exhibitions you'll find this on the Brisbane to Cairns Adventure that covers 13 different spots.
What Natural Areas Can You Visit Outside the Cities?
Queensland's packed with natural wonders and there's loads of ways to see them. You can cruise down K'gari's 75 Mile Beach Road in a 4x4 on the Oz East Coast Adventure or hike through these amazing ancient rainforests in Lamington National Park which is part of the Walk Queensland's Scenic Rim tour. The Whitsundays are incredible for cruising around you can stop for snorkeling and swimming at Whitehaven Beach. The Daintree's pretty special too you can drive through it take guided walks at Mossman Gorge or hop on a scenic cruise down the Daintree River.
Which Less-Visited Places Should You Know About?
Carnarvon National Park's a bit of a hidden gem with amazing Aboriginal rock art and wildlife you won't find many crowds here like you do on the coast. The Gulflander Train journey's pretty special too it shows you parts of Queensland's pioneer history that most people never see. Both these experiences are part of the Essence of the Outback Cairns Return tour for 2024. And don't miss Undara Volcanic National Park the lava tubes there are incredible and you can explore them on the same outback tour.
