    Marrakech

    You'll arrive at Marrakech airport and get picked up for the drive to your traditional riad in the medina. After checking in, there's a welcome meeting at 6 pm followed by dinner at Bidaya Rooftop restaurant. Walk back through the lively Djemaa el-Fna square to settle into your room for the night.

    Marrakech to Oukaimden

    Start with breakfast, then take a half-day guided tour of the medina including Djemaa el-Fna, Bahia Palace, and the souks. You'll taste fresh orange juice and browse rug and spice shops before grabbing lunch in the medina. After that, drive across the plains to Oukaimden (1550m/5086 ft) in the Atlas Mountains, home to Morocco's premier ski resort and the highest in Africa.

    Oukaimden

    Lace up your boots for a relatively easy half-day guided hike to a nearby mountain pass with views across the High Atlas Mountains. You'll pass through small Amazigh villages and enjoy a picnic lunch with the scenery all around you. Back at the hotel, the afternoon is free to relax or try yoga and meditation. After dinner, learn how to prepare herbal tea using herbs picked from the hotel garden.

Check in, then head out for a guided hike to Aremd village in Toubkal National Park. Eat a home-cooked lunch with a local family, then continue uphill toward Sidi Chamharouch on the trail that leads to Mount Toubkal (4167m/13671 ft), North Africa's highest peak.

    Start early for a more challenging trek through the Tiziane Valley with steeper ascents but great rewards. You'll reach Tizi N'Tamatert Pass (2279m/7477 ft), the highest point of your tour, with panoramic views of the Tachdirt Valley and surrounding peaks. Stop for a picnic with these views, then pass through small villages and rocky terrain before returning to Imlil for home-cooked lunch and a bread-making demonstration. The afternoon is yours to relax.

Watch for birds near small streams from the Oued El Kassab River and learn about local history at the buried ruins of Dar Sultan Palace, once a king's home now merged with the sand dunes. Stop at the Jimi Hendrix Cafe for a drink, then return to Essaouira for seafood lunch with your group. The afternoon offers multiple options to explore.
