Lima
You'll arrive at Lima airport and head to your hotel to get settled. After checking in, you can relax and get ready for the adventure ahead. It's a good day to shake off travel fatigue and prepare yourself for exploring Peru.

- Day 2
Lima
Have breakfast at your hotel, then meet your guide for a tour of Lima's main attractions. You'll walk through San Martín Square and stroll along the historic Jirón de la Unión avenue. Then you'll see Plaza Mayor with its cathedral and colonial buildings, and finish at San Francisco Monastery where you can check out the catacombs below.

Lima to Cusco
After breakfast, you'll head to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Once you land and get through arrivals, a transfer takes you to your hotel. You'll have the evening to yourself to adjust to the higher altitude and rest up.

Cusco
Start with breakfast at the hotel, then your guide takes you through Cusco's key archaeological sites. You'll see the Temple of the Sun (Qorikancha), walk around the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, then head to the sacred site of Q'enqo and finish at Tambomachay. There's time to wander around each spot on your own before moving to the next.

Machu Picchu
After breakfast, you'll travel to Poroy Train Station and board the Vistadome train around 7:35 AM for the ride through the Sacred Valley. You'll arrive in Aguas Calientes where your guide meets you, then take a shuttle up to Machu Picchu for a two-hour tour. The train back to Poroy leaves later, and you should reach your Cusco hotel between 8 and 10 PM, so it's a long but worthwhile day.

Landmarks Machu Picchu - Day 6
Rainbow Mountain
You'll have breakfast at the hotel before heading out through the Andean mountains toward Rainbow Mountain. With your guide, you'll trek to the summit to see the natural stripes of mineral colors across the landscape. If walking the whole way sounds tough, you can rent a horse for part of the trek (extra cost), which many people do.

Cusco to Rio de Janeiro
After breakfast, you'll transfer to the airport for your flight to Rio de Janeiro. Once you land and get to your hotel, spend the rest of the day settling in and getting familiar with this lively city.

Rio de Janeiro
Have breakfast, then join a full-day tour covering Rio's major sites. You'll go to Christ the Redeemer on top of Corcovado Mountain for views of the whole city, take a cable car up Sugarloaf Mountain, see the colorful Selarón Steps, visit the Maracanã Stadium, check out the Sambadrome, and stop at the Metropolitan Cathedral. Lunch includes traditional Brazilian barbecue where you can try local meat dishes.

After breakfast, you have the full day to yourself. Rio's yours to explore however you'd like. Some people head to Copacabana or Ipanema beaches, others wander through neighborhoods or try local restaurants. You set the pace and pick what interests you most.
