Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Tbilisi

    You'll arrive in Tbilisi and start settling into Georgia's capital. The city blends old and new pretty seamlessly, with narrow medieval streets running alongside modern neighborhoods. This is where you get your first feel for Georgian hospitality and that mix of history and contemporary culture that defines the place.

  2. Day 2

    Tbilisi Old Town

    After breakfast, you're heading into Tbilisi's Old Town to walk the cobblestone streets. You'll see Metekhi Church from the 13th century, then take the cable car up to Narikala Fortress for views over the city. From there, check out Anchiskhati Basilica and Sioni Cathedral before stopping at the Simon Janashia Museum to see ancient gold jewelry and other treasures dating back to 5th-century BC.

  3. Day 3

    Ateni Valley - Winery Guesthouse

    You're heading west early to Uplistsikhe, a massive cave complex carved into rock about 3,000 years ago with temples and halls throughout. Later, you'll meet winemaker Andro Barnovi for natural wine tasting and a farm lunch at his place. After that, you'll drive through the peaceful Ateni Valley to see the 7th-century Ateni Sioni Church, then end the day at Nick Vacheishvili's winery guesthouse for home-cooked Georgian dinner.

    Georgian Military Highway - Kazbegi

    You'll travel north through Georgia's historic areas to Mtskheta, the ancient capital, stopping at the 11th-century Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Then comes the drive along the Georgian Military Highway through dramatic mountain passes and valleys. You'll stop at Ananuri Fortress overlooking a blue reservoir before arriving in Kazbegi by evening, a mountain town surrounded by snow-capped peaks.

  5. Day 5

    Gergeti Trinity Church - Gveleti Waterfalls

    This morning starts with a hike up to Gergeti Trinity Church sitting at 2,180 meters with Mount Kazbek above you. You'll descend to Tsdo village where a local family teaches you how to make khinkali (dumplings), and then you'll have lunch. In the afternoon, there's another hike to Gveleti Waterfalls through alpine scenery with water rushing down the mountainside.

    Telavi

    Today takes you through Truso Gorge where mineral springs have painted the rocks rust-red and gold, and old stone towers stand abandoned throughout. You'll hike for about two hours through rough mountain terrain before descending into Kakheti's vineyards and fertile plains. By late afternoon, you'll reach Telavi, a town surrounded by wineries and rolling hills.

  7. Day 7

    Tsinandali Estate - Sighnaghi - Kerovani Winery - Lost Ridge Brewery

    Starting at the 19th-century Tsinandali Estate with its gardens and historic wine cellars, you'll then head to Sighnaghi, a hilltop town with terracotta roofs and views across the Alazani Valley. You'll meet winemaker Archil Natsvlishvili at Kerovani Winery for tasting and lunch. Later at Lost Ridge Brewery & Ranch, you can either ride horses through rolling hills or relax with craft beer, finishing with a farm-style dinner.

    You're heading southeast to David Gareja, a 6th-century monastery complex carved right into the cliff faces. You'll explore Lavra Monastery where monks still live in ancient rock-hewn cells and take in the wind-swept views. After lunch, you'll drive back to Tbilisi by mid-afternoon, leaving the rest of the day free to rest or explore on your own.

    You'll cross the border into Armenia with your Armenian guide. The drive goes through forested mountains to Haghpat Monastery, a UNESCO site positioned high above a river gorge. You'll stop at a Molokan house for tea and pastries, then have lunch at a family restaurant with wine tasting at Hovaz Wines. By evening, you'll reach Lake Sevan and climb to Sevanavank Monastery for views across the water.

    This is a local's introduction to Yerevan starting with a guided walk through Republic Square and the Cascade Complex, an outdoor art space with city views from above. You'll visit the Matenadaran Museum to see over 23,000 ancient manuscripts. After a coffee break at an old-town café, you'll spend four hours on a culinary walking tour hitting 5 to 6 stops for classic Armenian dishes.

    Garni Temple - Geghard Monastery

    You'll start at Echmiadzin Cathedral, the world's first Christian cathedral built in 301 AD and a UNESCO site. Next is the 1st-century Garni Temple, the only Greco-Roman colonnade in the Caucasus, overlooking the Azat River Gorge. A village lavash baking class comes next, and then lunch with Ghapama (stuffed pumpkin). You'll finish at the 4th-century Geghard Monastery carved into cliffs, with an optional live acapella performance.
