    Kathmandu

    You'll land at Kathmandu International Airport where a representative meets you and drives to your hotel. After settling in, the rest of the day is open for you to walk around this historic city on your own schedule.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding

    An early flight takes you from Kathmandu to Lukla, then trekking begins through farmland and Sherpa villages like Chheplung, Ghat, Sano, and Thulo Gumela. Along the way you'll pass Drangdrak Gompa and Pema Choling Gompa, seeing sacred mountain Kumbila and Kusum Kanguru peaks before reaching Phakding for the night.

    Phakding to Namche Bazaar

    The trek heads toward Namche Bazaar, passing through hamlets like Zamphute and Tok Tok with Thamserku peak in view. You'll pass Sherpa villages including Benkar, Chumoa, and Monjo, then visit Utche Choling Gompa above the Dudhkoshi River. The afternoon features a steep climb with a high bridge crossing the gorge, and you'll catch your first sight of Mt. Everest before arriving at Namche Bazaar.

  4. Day 4

    Namche Bazaar

    Today's for acclimatizing in Namche Bazaar with leisurely walks and a short climb to help your body adjust. You'll explore traditional Sherpa houses and terraced fields, hike the U-shaped hillside near the Gompa for views of Kwangde, Khumbila, Thamserku, and Ama Dablam. Later you'll head toward Khumjung, passing a large chorten and mani wall, reaching a viewpoint near Everest View Hotel for lunch. Visit Khumjung Gompa in its cedar grove, then return to Namche Bazaar for the night.

  5. Day 5

    Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

    An easy trail circles Chhorkung Ridge to a bluff viewpoint with panoramic vistas. You'll pass through Kyangjuma and Sanasa, then descend gently toward Tengboche with views of Ama Dablam. The trail goes through Lawichasa to Tashinga before descending steeply via stone steps to Phunki Thenga with its water-powered prayer wheels. After ascending through rhododendron forest where you might spot musk deer and Himalayan tahr, you'll reach Tengboche below its crescent-shaped ridge and famous monastery.

  6. Day 6

    Tengboche to Dingboche

    Trekking through conifer and rhododendron forests, watch for monal pheasants and musk deer. You'll visit Debuche Gompa with its ancient thangkas and murals, and pass a Buddhist nunnery. Later you'll head through dense forest to Milinggo, then descend sharply to cross Imja Khola via suspension bridge. After climbing to a white stupa and the footprint of Lama Sange Dorje, you'll reach Pangboche, home to Khumbu's oldest monastery. Following Imja Khola past Shomare, you'll enter alpine landscape with yak pastures and stone huts before descending to Dingboche, known for its cold, windy conditions.

    Dingboche

    A day hike climbs about 400 meters to Nangkartsang Gompa on a ridge north of Dingboche. From here you'll see three of the world's six highest peaks: Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Continue to the summit for even closer views of these mountains, then descend back to Dingboche for the night.

    Dughla to Lobuche

    Climbing the gravelly terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, you'll reach Chupki Lhara adorned with prayer flags where mountaineers lost on Everest expeditions are honored. Chola Lake's blue waters appear from high trails beyond. The path follows the Khumbu Glacier moraine with Khumbutse, Lingtren, and Pumori peaks in view. Following a stream, you'll reach Lobuche.

    Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorak Shep

    This challenging day crosses grassy terrain and scattered boulders surrounded by snowy peaks. A 200ft ascent leads to Thangma Riju on the Changri Glacier's lateral moraine with a 360-degree view of Taboche, Lobuche, Pumori, Nuptse, and Changtse in Tibet. You'll cross the Changri Glacier moraine and climb steeply to Gorak Shep. After passing Gorak Shep Lake with Changtse views, navigating glaciers and icy terrain, you'll reach Everest Base Camp then return to Gorak Shep for the night.

    Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar to Pheriche

    After early breakfast, you'll ascend toward Kala Patthar across a wide sandy bed with steep zigzags climbing about 100 meters. You'll see Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse while witnessing the Khumbu Glacier and Nuptse massif. The rocky viewpoint of Kala Patthar rewards you with views of Everest and the Himalayan panorama. Descending through Gorak Shep and Lobuche, you'll head toward Pheriche instead of Dingboche, following Khumbu Khola for the night.

    Pheriche to Namche Bazaar

    From Pheriche, the trail descends to Tsuro Wog, crossing a bridge over Khumbu Khola with mountain views. You'll retrace steps through Orsho, Shomare, upper Pangboche, and reach beautiful Tengboche, home to Khumbu's largest gompa. From there, descending through Phunki Tenga to Sanasa and Kyangjuma, you'll eventually arrive back at Namche Bazaar.

    Lukla to Kathmandu

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before January 5th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after January 5th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Alpine Club of Himalaya. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
