Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Lisbon
Your flight lands at Lisbon Airport and from there you'll transfer to your hotel. Check-in opens at 3:00 PM, so if you arrive earlier you can store your bags and start getting oriented. The rest of the day is yours to settle in or take a casual walk around if jet lag isn't hitting too hard.

Belem - Cascais - Cabo da Roca - Sintra
After breakfast, you'll head out at 9:00 AM toward Belem to see the UNESCO monuments from Portugal's Age of Discoveries. Stop by the Pastel de Belem bakery and try the famous pastry there. The drive takes you along the coast to Cascais where you'll have time for lunch and a walk around. Next you'll reach Cabo da Roca, Europe's westernmost point on the continent, and finish the day in Sintra where there's time to wander through the historic center.

Belmonte
After breakfast at 9:00 AM you're heading to Tomar to see the Templar Castle and the Convent of Christ, a UNESCO site with different architectural styles throughout. Then you'll travel to Belmonte, where Pedro Álvares Cabral was born and where Portugal's first Jewish community lived. You'll walk through Belmonte Castle, the Cabral Family Pantheon, and check out the old pillory.

Vila Nova de Foz Côa - Miranda do Douro
After breakfast you'll depart at 9:00 AM for Castelo Rodrigo, a hilltop village with views across the plateau toward Spain and down into the Douro valley. You'll explore the pillory, Cristóvão de Moura Palace, a medieval cistern, and the Convent of Santa Maria de Aguiar. Later you'll have lunch in Vila Nova de Foz Côa, then visit the Côa Valley Archaeological Museum to see Paleolithic rock art over 20,000 years old (UNESCO-listed). The day ends in Miranda do Douro, a charming border town in the Douro International Natural Park.

Gimonde - Montesinho - Rio de Onor - Bragança
At 9:00 AM you'll board an environmental cruise through the Douro canyons, navigating past cliffs, waterfalls, and glacial formations in the UNESCO-listed Iberian Meseta Biosphere Reserve. You'll arrive in Gimonde, a quiet village with the charming Ponte Velha, and lunch is included there. After that you'll continue to Montesinho Natural Park with its deep valleys and isolated villages. A visit to Rio de Onor follows, a unique border village split between Portugal and Spain where medieval communal traditions are still practiced. You'll finish in Bragança with time to settle in after check-in.

Bragança
After breakfast at 9:00 AM you're visiting the Bragança Citadel, an authentic medieval fortress with strong walls. You'll see the Keep Tower, pillory, Church of Santa Maria, and the unusual 12th-century Domus Municipalis with its pentagonal shape. The Military Museum is inside the castle, and you can climb the Princess Tower for views of the city and surrounding landscape. This afternoon you'll have free time to walk through the historic center and try some regional food.

Mirandela - Chaves - Peso da Régua
You'll depart at 9:00 AM for Mirandela, a nice city on the Tua River known for flower-filled gardens. You'll see the Tárvoras Palace (now city hall), Santo António Gate, and the historic Ponte Velha. Then you're heading to Chaves, which Romans founded as Aquae Flaviae and which is known for thermal springs. Lunch is free time in the historic center. Heading south from there, Douro vineyards begin on terraced slopes, and you'll visit a traditional quinta for a Port wine production tour and tasting. The day ends in Peso da Régua on the Douro River with free time to explore.

Porto
After breakfast at 9:00 AM you're heading to Porto, known as the Invicta City and famous for its Port wine. When you arrive there's a panoramic tour showing the city's main sights including the Serra do Pilar lookout with Douro River views, traditional rabelo boats, iconic bridges, the colorful Ribeira district houses, and historic Port wine cellars. After the tour you can head back to your hotel or explore the city center independently.

Aveiro - Lisbon
After breakfast at 9:00 AM you're departing for Aveiro, a charming coastal city often compared to Venice. You'll take a traditional moliceiro boat ride through the canals, looking at Art Nouveau buildings and learning about the city's history. You'll have free time to explore the center and try the famous ovos moles pastries. From December to February, if weather stops boat navigation, you'll visit the Vista Alegre Factory Museum for Portuguese porcelain instead. In the afternoon you'll head back to Lisbon, check in at your hotel, and have free time for your own activities.
