Out of our 29 tours with Collette, this was our favorite. Great tour manager, An Doan, made the tour fun, exciting, busy if you wanted, and so much more. Riding vespas and hiking to falls in Laos. All are memorable experiences. We would repeat this tour at a later date.

Our first tour with Collette: very impressed with the design of the programs, many connections with local lives in addition to sightseeing. Very happy with our tour manager Huy Nguyen, who was not only uplifting, professional, organized, but also was very creative in problems solving during several unexpected situations.

My wife knew this tour would be long, and it was. Air flights averaged 15+ hours from NY to Hanoi, and from Bangkok to NY. At least we had Premium Economy on Cathay Pacific. Of course, this was more expensive, but more comfortable. We flew early, on January 1st, which shaved some of the cost of airfare. Traffic in Hanoi was horrific. As a longtime New Yorker, I never thought it could be more congested, and Hanoi was indeed so. Surprisingly, we found a truly pleasant experience with a nighttime Vespa Tour, followed by a tasty visit to a wonderful chocolate shop. Paddling a canoe in Hoo Long Bay was fun, but exhausting, especially for my wife. Fortunately, we were picked up by boat to take us back to our ship. This was a unique experience! And I learned abut Tai Chi! In Cambodia, we learned about how Rats, yes rats are being trained to find abandoned mines that were left to maime by the CamerRouge. These African immigrants are truly heros, and petlike. I loved holding one of these heroes. In Laos we learned about how locals eke out a livelihood by making hand goods like bracelets. Children are clothed in native garb, and the photos of them were special. The comradarie we made with fellow passengers was excellent! Our TourGuide Huy Nguyen established a very friendly tone from the first time we met him to the end of our trip. He work tirelessly on our behalf, and this often meant not the normal amount of sleep for him. If we had known how exhausting we would be at the end of our trip, we probably would not have booked the Thailand extension. This was our second tour with Collette, with the first being at trip to New Zealand in 2018. We are glad we traveled with them. And we would consider traveling with Collette in the future.

Really enjoyed the tour. Good selection and variety of experiences. Time sometimes compressed but that was to be expected on a type of this nature. The optional scooter tour of Ho Ch Minh City was an absolute blast; ending with a chocolate stop was a great finale. Our tour guide, Huy, was outstanding is all respects, but especially in his ability to manage successfully unanticipated challenges with interagency and grace, especially when he single handily unstuck completely gridlocked traffic just enough for our coach to snake through / between lanes of stopped vehicles when the traffic lights went out in all directions at a highway intersection. Otherwise we could have been stuck for hours. Any good tour guide can manage usual tour snafus and personalities; it takes a special guide to gracefully and competently handle exigent circumstances - all while keeping guests informed and calm. Many kudos. On the could improve side, I strongly recommend that tips for local guides and drivers be covered bt Collette and adjusted in the overall price. It is challenging for travelers to have enough local currency (and in appropriate denominations), and hunting for foreign atms is a pain (and some were broken or ram out of bills). Minor item: airport transfer drivers should have a Collette card/flag to make it easier for groggy travelers to spot their drivers upon first arrival (and driver tipping protocol info would have been nice).

Everything was top notch. The things we did, the places we went, the restaurants we dined at. It gave us a great experience of the local culture in each location. Colette did a great job putting it all together but by far our tour guide "John" was the icing on the cake. He was fantastic and a wealth of information and ideas. Also had a great sense of humor 😜

Our tour manager, Phong, made this an educational and wonderful experience. He took such good care of everything we needed, and even took care of things we didn't know we needed! The Vespa tour in Saigon was a highlight. The hotel in Hoi A was beautiful. Other accommodations were average. Very much enjoyed the experience at Yaly Couture.
