The tour guide was great thou), but this review is about scammy practices of Contiki the company, and their poor customer service. They lie about what's included in a trip and overcharge I did Cape, Falls, Safari trip with Contiki in December 2023. There were several instances of Contiki suggesting that an activity is included to the price yet they charged it extra in the trip. The PDFs they send before the trip (and the info they show before they sell) make it sound like a lot more is included than it is. When I confronted them about this, they refused to take accountability. Overall, scammy company. You'll end up paying A LOT more than the base price, unless what you wanna do is literally stay in the hotel the whole trip. Also, they take *28* days to reply to your messages, which is insane. So disappointing! Never booking with them again, and will keep telling to everyone.Show more

Asked on June 14th, 2025Is there a specific time we would need to arrive by on the first day? If we would like to leave from Victoria Falls, what time would we be arriving back there to plan our flights? Finally, how does the process of choosing the optional excursions work?
ContikiOperator•Written June 2025For travelers arriving independently at the hotel on Day 1, the kick-start meeting is scheduled for approximately 18:00 at the starting hotel. If you are departing from Victoria Falls, please ensure your onward flights are scheduled no earlier than 13:30 to allow enough time for transfers. Regarding free-time add-ons (optional experiences), these will be purchased directly through your trip manager using local cash or a credit card.

If you opt for a different departure date that has not yet reached definite status, the trip may be canceled or rescheduled if it does not meet the minimum participant requirement. We do not recommend booking flights until your booking is confirmed and has reached definite status to avoid any potential disruptions.
