Itinerary
- Day 1
Hobart
Your Tasmanian adventure kicks off with a 9:30 am welcome meeting in Hobart where you'll meet the other travelers on your tour. From there, you're heading to Ningina Tunapri, TMAG's Tasmanian Aboriginal culture gallery, to connect with Traditional Owners and learn about the region's Indigenous heritage. After that, the route takes you to historic Richmond where you can wander through charming streets lined with over 40 heritage buildings that tell stories of the town's past. Before wrapping up, you'll stop at a local family-owned winery for a tasting session, then drive to the coastal town of Bicheno for your first night's stay.

- Day 2
Bicheno - Freycinet National Park - Bicheno
This morning you're driving south to Freycinet National Park where your leader will take you on the walk to Wineglass Bay, known as one of the world's top 10 beaches with its powder-white sands and clear waters. After lunch, you'll hike up to Cape Tourville Lighthouse to take in the panoramic views across the coastline. The afternoon brings you back to Bicheno, and if you're interested, there's an optional guided tour in the evening to watch Little Penguins as they return to their rookeries at dusk to feed their chicks.

- Day 3
Bicheno - Bay of Fires - Sheffield
You'll leave Bicheno and travel south along the Great Eastern Drive toward Tasmania's quiet northeast corner. The Bay of Fires is your main stop, where you can see white beaches, turquoise waters, coastal heath, woodlands full of wildlife, and those distinctive orange-colored granite rocks that give the area its name. You'll take one of the natural walking paths through this landscape, then head toward Sheffield, a former hydroelectric hub that's transformed itself into an arts community. Before settling in for the night, walk around and check out more than 140 murals painted on buildings throughout town, each depicting local stories and characters.

Sheffield - Cradle Mountain National Park - Strahan
Today you're driving to Cradle Mountain National Park and the dramatic wilderness surrounding it. The iconic mountain itself rises to 1545 meters and is surrounded by native deciduous beech, rainforest, alpine heathlands, and button grass meadows. You'll see icy streams cascading down mountainsides and ancient pines reflected in glacial lakes. Your leader will guide you along various walking tracks, including the Dove Lake Circuit, with options tailored to your group's ability level. After exploring the park, you'll drive to your accommodation in Strahan for the evening.

- Day 5
Strahan - Tarkine Rainforest - Strahan
You're spending the full day exploring Tasmania's west coast from Strahan, starting with the Tarkine, Australia's largest temperate rainforest. This area is home to unique creatures and plant species found nowhere else in the world. You'll walk among pristine rainforest featuring vast forests of myrtle, leatherwood, and pine trees, trees that are living links to Gondwanaland from millions of years ago. The scenery here is really something special as you move through the dense forest. Later in the afternoon, you're heading back to Strahan to settle in for the night.

Strahan - Hobart
Your final day on the Apple Isle takes you through Queenstown's distinctive eroded landscape of treeless hills. You'll stop for short walks along the Franklin River and out to Nelson Falls to stretch your legs. Next, you're visiting Lake St Clair, Australia's deepest freshwater lake, before continuing over the Central Plateau and through the Derwent Valley. From there, the route heads back to Hobart where your Tasmanian adventure comes to an end.
