- Day 1
Edinburgh to Kyleakin
You'll leave Edinburgh in the morning and drive into the Scottish Highlands for a full day of exploration. The route takes you through dramatic landscapes, and you'll stop at Culloden Battlefield to learn about the area's significant history. From there, Eilean Donan Castle comes into view, perched on a peninsula and one of Scotland's most recognizable sites. You'll get your first look at Loch Ness during the drive, and the scenery continues to shift as you head toward Kyleakin on the Isle of Skye. The entire journey showcases what makes the Highlands so distinctive, with mountains, glens, and lochs constantly changing the view from the bus.

Isle of Skye
Starting from Kyleakin, you'll spend the day on the Isle of Skye exploring some of its most distinctive landscapes. The Cuillin mountains dominate the scenery, and you'll hike around the Old Man of Storr rock formation to get a real sense of its scale and the views surrounding it. The Quiraing is another highlight, offering otherworldly terrain that looks quite different from the rest of Scotland. Much of your time comes off the bus, so bring proper hiking boots and weather-appropriate layers. The landscape here has drawn artists and photographers for generations because of how dramatic and varied it is.

Skye to Scottish Lowlands
You'll leave Skye and head south, with views of Ben Nevis appearing as you travel. This mountain is Britain's highest peak, and the perspective changes depending on your route. Glen Coe comes next, known for both its natural beauty and the historical clan massacre that happened there, which your guide will explain. The drive itself becomes one of the highlights because the scenery is so striking. You'll also stop at Doune Castle and the Wallace Monument to break up the driving and connect with Scotland's history. The guide may shift timing or which sites you visit based on weather conditions to make sure you get the most from the day.
