  1. Day 1

    Airport to Heritage Adventurer

    You'll meet your transfer at the airport and head to the Heritage Adventurer, where you'll spend the next nine nights. After settling into your cabin, there's a relaxed dinner on board this evening so you can meet other travelers and get oriented before the voyage begins.

  2. Day 2

    Lacepede Islands and Buccaneer Archipelago

    A Zodiac takes you out to the Lacepede Islands, an Important Bird Area with plenty of marine birds and the region's main breeding ground for green sea turtles. Later the ship moves toward the Buccaneer Archipelago, a grouping of over 800 islands with unique wildlife scattered throughout.

  3. Day 3

    Talbot Bay and Horizontal Falls

    After arriving in Talbot Bay, you'll ride out on a Zodiac to see the Horizontal Falls, where the bay's 12-metre tides force through a narrow gorge gap and create powerful currents. The route takes you past Cyclone Creek and rock formations while you watch for local wildlife along the way.

    Montgomery Reef and Wandjina Rock Art

    The cruise through Doubtful Bay gives you chances to spot whales during their season. On a Zodiac, you'll get up close to Montgomery Reef as it rises from the ocean thanks to strong tides here. After navigating channels near the world's largest inshore reef, a local Aboriginal guide leads you through a Wandjina rock art site at Freshwater Cove.

    Prince Frederick Harbour and Hunter River

    Prince Frederick Harbour has mangrove ecosystems ringed by red sandstone cliffs where you can look for saltwater crocodiles, mudskippers, kingfishers and sea eagles. Later, a Zodiac excursion takes you through the Hunter River and around Naturalists Island to see what the area has to offer.

  6. Day 6

    Swift Bay and Ancient Rock Art

    This area's maze of islands, inlets and peninsulas is thought to be named after novelist Jonathan Swift by explorer Phillip Parker King. A local guide shows you galleries of ancient Wandjina and Gwion Gwion rock art created between 5,000 and 13,000 years ago, with paintings on rock overhangs and in caves near the water.

    Ashmore Reef Marine Park

    You'll arrive at Ashmore Reef Marine Park and take a Zodiac tour of this seabird haven where around 100,000 birds breed annually. The clear tropical waters below hold 255 species of reef-building coral, the highest count on Western Australia's coast, plus diverse marine life in coral reefs, seagrass meadows and lagoons.

    Vansittart Bay and WWII Aircraft

    Vansittart Bay's main sights are explored by landing and heading out across the salt flats to find the US Air Force C-53 plane that crash-landed here during World War II in 1942.

    This morning you arrive in Koolama Bay and board a Zodiac to cruise the King George River, passing red cliffs and mangrove forests as the waterway winds through the landscape. At the river's highlight, King George Falls drops 80 metres from sandstone cliffs, and you'll get close enough to feel the power of this waterfall.
