Itinerary
- Day 1
Colombo to Sigiriya
You'll land at Colombo Airport where your tour leader meets you for the drive to your hotel. From there, head to Pinnawala Elephant Rehabilitation Centre to see the rescued elephants and help bathe them in the river. Afterward, continue on to Sigiriya or Dambulla and settle in for your first night.

Sigiriya
After breakfast, start with a cultural village tour that includes a tuk-tuk ride and a catamaran crossing over the lake. Stop at a farmer's house for a curry cooking demo and a real countryside lunch. Later in the afternoon, climb Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress, check out the ancient palace frescoes, and catch the sunset from the top.

Sigiriya
Following breakfast, head into Ritigala Forest Monastery tucked away in the Ritigala Strict Nature Reserve where you'll walk through forested ruins and ancient stone pathways. During the afternoon, jump into a 4x4 for a jeep safari at either Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park to look for wild elephants, particularly around sunset. Back at your resort, take time to relax with an optional Ayurvedic massage if you'd like.

Sigiriya to Kandy
After breakfast, travel to Kandy, the last Sinhalese kingdom's capital. On the way, stop at the Royal Cave Temple in Dambulla, a UNESCO site with 5 cave temples containing unique historical drawings. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and head up to the Kandy viewpoint for nice views across the city.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Following breakfast, journey toward Nuwara Eliya in Sri Lanka's tea region, nicknamed 'Little England' for its colonial-era buildings. Stop at a tea factory to see how Ceylon tea is made and try a fresh cup. Afterward, walk around the Nuwara Eliya city center and check out the local fruit and vegetable market.

Nuwara Eliya to Ella to Udawalawe
This morning, take a train journey from Nanu-Oya station to Ella village, traveling through some beautiful hill country scenery. Once there, see Rawana Waterfall and the Nine Arch Bridge. From Ella, head to Udawalawe National Park for a 4x4 jeep safari where you'll spot elephants, peacocks, crocodiles, and other wildlife.

You'll arrive at Unawatuna, a sandy beach lined with coconut palms and white sand. Check in at your hotel and relax on the beach with cocktails or beers under the palms. Water activities are available if you want them, like jet skiing, banana boating, diving, snorkeling, surfing, or fishing.

Hikkaduwa to Galle
After breakfast, head along the south coast to Galle and its famous Fort where Dutch and British architecture sits alongside tropical scenery. Walk through Galle's streets to see colonial buildings and local traditions. Visit a turtle hatchery where you'll watch baby turtles heading out to the ocean and see injured adults being cared for. Return to your hotel for the evening.
