Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Victoria

    You'll land in Victoria and connect with your Tour Director and group members at a welcome dinner this evening. It's a chance to settle in and get to know everyone you'll be traveling with over the next couple of weeks.

  2. Day 2

    Victoria

    Start the day at Butchart Gardens, where you can walk through 22 hectares of colorful displays across different garden sections. After that, an orientation tour takes you through Victoria's Inner Harbour, Bastion Square, Beacon Hill, and some residential neighborhoods. The rest of your day is yours to spend however you like exploring the city.

    Victoria to Whistler

    You'll head north through Vancouver Island's forested roads to Nanaimo, then board the BC Ferry across Georgia Strait to Horseshoe Bay. From there, travel north on the Sea to Sky Highway with coastal views along the way, stopping at Shannon Falls before reaching Whistler. You'll have time to check out this alpine resort village once you arrive.

    Travel along Duffy Lake Road lined with thick forest as you make your way to Lillooet. By afternoon, you'll arrive at your riverside boutique inn, which sits on 22 hectares in the Thompson Valley. This gives you time to get settled and take in the surroundings.

    Thompson Valley to Banff

    This is a driving day through the Canadian Rockies. You'll travel through eastern British Columbia and into Alberta, passing through Mount Revelstoke, Glacier, and Yoho National Parks. You'll see everything from thick forests to glaciers, waterfalls, and mountain peaks before reaching Banff National Park in the evening.

  7. Day 7

    Banff to Emerald Lake

    A guided tour of Banff takes you to the Bow River and Bow Falls first. Then you'll drive along the Trans-Canada Highway past Castle Mountain and Mount Temple to reach Lake Louise. After that, you'll head to Emerald Lake, known for its bright glacier-fed waters, where you'll stay at Emerald Lake Lodge surrounded by peaks and forests.

    Travel north on the Icefields Parkway, one of the most recognized scenic drives in the world. You'll pass rugged peaks, glaciers, and clear lakes. At Columbia Icefield, you'll board an Ice Explorer and travel onto the Athabasca Glacier (about 300 meters thick). Later, you'll reach Jasper National Park, walk above Maligne Canyon, and hear a presentation about the area's wildlife.

    You'll start a two-day rail journey on the Rocky Mountaineer train. Settle into your SilverLeaf carriage as the train heads toward Kamloops. Throughout the day, you'll have views of Canada's Rockies, including Mt. Robson at 3,954 meters high, from your seat on the train.

    Your train journey continues today following the Thompson River and passing through the Fraser Valley. By late afternoon, you'll pull into Vancouver. After you disembark, you'll head to the cruise ship to check in and get settled for the next part of your trip.

    Vancouver and Cruise Embarkation

    A sightseeing tour of Vancouver takes you through Stanley Park, the waterfront, Gastown, and Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. You'll walk across the 70-meter suspension bridge above the Capilano River. This afternoon, you'll check into your Ocean View Stateroom on the ms Koningsdam and get ready for a 7-night cruise through the Inside Passage.

    You'll spend today cruising the Inside Passage, one of the major waterways along the coast. The route takes you past forests, mountains, islands, and inlets. It's a full day to relax on the ship or take in the scenery from the deck.

    Inside Passage to Juneau

    Another day cruising through the Inside Passage. In the afternoon, the ship sails into Juneau, a state capital with Mt. Juneau and Mt. Roberts towering in the background. You'll have time to explore this Alaskan city during your port stop.

  14. Day 14

    Skagway

    Today you'll visit Skagway, which started as a trading post back in 1897 for prospectors heading to the Klondike Gold Rush. The town still has that gold rush character, and you can see the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park to learn about its colorful past.

  15. Day 15

    Glacier Bay National Park

    Early this morning, the ship enters Glacier Bay National Park, where thirteen glaciers flow from the surrounding mountains down into the bay's waters. It's one of the highlights of the Inside Passage route, and you'll want to be on deck to see the icebergs and glaciers.

  16. Day 16

    Ketchikan

    You're arriving in Ketchikan, known as the salmon capital. The town is built partly on a steep hillside and partly on pilings over the water. The area has strong indigenous heritage, and you'll find an outstanding collection of totem poles throughout the town.

  17. Day 17

    Relaxation at Sea

    Today is a relaxation day at sea. Use the ship's facilities like the gym, pools, or dining options, or simply spend time on deck with a drink watching the scenery pass by. It's a chance to rest before the journey ends.

  18. Day 18

    Disembark Vancouver and Departure

    You'll leave the ship early this morning and transfer to Vancouver Airport for your flight home. If you're flying out at 6 PM or later, there's an option to join a self-guided motorcoach tour to explore Vancouver at your own pace before heading to the airport (note that entrance fees, meals, and purchases are on you, and luggage stays on the motorcoach).
