  1. Day 1

    Siem Reap

    You'll arrive in Siem Reap and transfer to Shinta Mani Angkor, a luxurious property in the French Quarter. After checking in, head to Ta Prohm Temple, the famous structure from the Tomb Raider films where massive tree roots wrap around ancient stone. Later that evening, you'll have a Khmer dinner with apsara dancers performing traditional movements, giving you a taste of classical Cambodian culture.

    Start early to catch the sunrise at Angkor Wat with refreshments, then return for breakfast at your hotel. You'll have free time during the early afternoon to wander around Siem Reap on your own. In the afternoon, explore Angkor Thom and the Bayon temple complex with its famous stone faces. The evening is yours to rest up or pursue optional activities if you're interested.

    Travel through rural countryside and small villages to reach Kampong Cham, where you'll board the RV Lotus, a boutique river ship that'll be your home for the next week. Spend the afternoon exploring Koh Pen by tuk tuk to get a feel for local life. Later, gather with other travelers for a Welcome Dinner on the ship.

    Kampong Cham to Oknha Tey

    Begin with a walking tour through Angkor Ban, a remarkable village that survived the Khmer Rouge period, where you'll see wooden houses over a hundred years old. From there, cruise along the Mekong to Oknha Tey, also called Silk Island, and visit local workshops where craftspeople continue traditional silk weaving that's been done for generations.

    Oknha Tey to Phnom Penh

    Take a road excursion to Oudong, Cambodia's former royal capital, where you'll participate in a Buddhist blessing ceremony conducted by monks. On the return journey, stop at the village of Koh Chen to see open-air copperware workshops with artisans at work. You'll have a free afternoon back in Phnom Penh if you want to explore independently or choose optional experiences.

After lunch, tour the Royal Palace built in 1866 and the Silver Pagoda with its distinctive 5,000 silver tile floors. You'll have the afternoon free to shop at Russian Market or Central Market, or stay on the ship to relax.

    Relax on board as your ship cruises toward the Vietnamese border. While border procedures are handled, you'll have onboard presentations and demonstrations to keep you entertained. Once formalities are complete, you'll cross into Vietnam and cruise into the riverside town of Tan Chau.

    Tan Chau to Sa Dec

Later, you'll visit Vinh Hoa, also known as Evergreen Island, to observe how Vietnamese farmers practice agriculture, then continue cruising to the quiet town of Sa Dec.
