You'll arrive in Lima this evening on a late flight. The day is yours to settle in, grab a meal if you're hungry, and get some rest. There's nothing scheduled, so it's a good chance to adjust to the time zone and get ready for the activities ahead.

Lima
Start with a guided walk through Lima's historic center, a UNESCO site. You'll see the Cathedral at Plaza de Armas and check out colonial buildings, then stop by a former conquistador's home. After that, you have the afternoon free to walk around on your own and find lunch or coffee wherever looks good. By evening, head to the welcome dinner with traditional Peruvian cuisine.

Lima to Cuzco to Sacred Valley
You'll fly over the Andes early today and land in Cuzco. From there, a local guide takes you through the Sacred Valley. Stop in Pisac to browse the handicraft market and pick up souvenirs. Later, you'll join a cooking class learning how to prepare ceviche and pisco sours. Then settle into your hotel in the Sacred Valley for the night.

You'll visit ceramic artist Pablo Seminario's studio to see his work inspired by ancient techniques. Next, a community visit introduces traditional growing, harvesting, and weaving methods. Stick around for local music and dances, then enjoy dinner featuring local ingredients from nearby farms.

Cuzco

Quito
Start the day touring the Presidential Palace in the colonial center of Quito. Grab lunch, then head to the Equatorial Line Monument and Museum where you can literally stand between two hemispheres. After that, the rest of the afternoon and evening are yours to do whatever you like.

Fly to San Cristóbal in the Galápagos and board your yacht, the M/Y Coral II, which will be your base for four nights. Later, hike up Tijeretas Hill for nice views and a chance to see frigate birds nesting on the cliffs.

A wet landing takes you to Cerro Brujo with volcanic rock formations and white sand. You can snorkel or relax on the beach, then walk through a lagoon area where you might spot migratory birds. Later, another wet landing means hiking over rocky terrain to a volcanic ridge with great viewpoints. This spot is where three booby species live together along with frigatebirds and sea lions. The olivine beach here is good for snorkeling and riding in small boats looking for seabirds.

Hike to spots where Galápagos doves, hawks, and the world's biggest waved albatross colony gather. You'll also see the Soplador blowhole shoot water up 75 feet high. An afternoon wet landing on white coral sand gives you chances to swim and snorkel with manta rays and reef sharks.

Landmarks Española Island - Day 13
Floreana Island, Galápagos
A wet landing on Floreana Island puts you on an olivine green beach. You'll hike through mangroves to a brackish lagoon with a huge flamingo population. Continue to a white sandy beach where green sea turtles nest. Swim or snorkel with sea turtles and sea lions. In the afternoon, another wet landing brings you to the Post Office, where a wooden barrel from 1793 still sits. You can add your own postcards there and hope other travelers deliver them. Look around for Darwin's finches and other local wildlife.

A dry landing on Santa Cruz Island takes you from the coast into humid forests and up to the Highlands Tortoise Reserve. You'll see the famous Galápagos giant tortoises and various birds including finches, flycatchers, and warblers. After this final wildlife experience, fly back to Quito where a day room near the airport is available before your flight home.
