- TBTyler· October 12th, 2024Tour group was fantastic. Emi the tour guide was so helpful, went above and beyond. Felt like you were with friends rather than a stranger. The hostels and other living arrangements were very nice, not at all like the reputation that hostels have in the rest of the world. Emi, the tour guide offered so many extra things to do for the group. Tea ceremonies, ninja experiences, etc. She also gave some great recommendations for places to go and things to do on your own. Two of my favorite things I did on this trip, the Kabuki theatre and the sanjusangendo temple, were her recommendations. The only thing I regret is not going on the longer tour so I could have more fun with the group. The description on the site does not do the tour justice. This tour is great for making new friends and having fun experiences in Japan.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewThank you so much for your review, Tyler! - AHelen M· October 23rd, 2018I really enjoyed the tour aspect of my trip. The guide was friendly, fun and responsible, and the the chance to meet other people from other countries is interesting and it's really exciting to experience a new country and culture with others. The tour was not too set in stone, plenty of room for me to do my own thing, and we were always asked our opinion as to whether we wanted to go somewhere/do something as a group.Show moreTrip date: October 2018

Asked on May 18th, 2025I am 40 years old and will only be in Japan during these dates. I hope you can give an exception since it is just 1 year older than the requirement.
- G AdventuresOperator•Written May 2025
Unfortunately there are no exception for the age requirements on this tour, you must be no older than 39 years of age on Day 1 of the tour. We require passports to confirm your eligibility so you would need to look at alternative tours.

- G AdventuresOperator•Written December 2024
This trip is designed for travellers aged 18-39 years old wishing to form interpersonal connections with travellers around their age, while visiting a new destination. Travellers must be 39 years old or younger as of Day 1 of the departure date of the tour.

Asked on November 9th, 2024I liked your 'Japan: Tokyo Nights & Kyoto Temples - 6 days' tour plan. I would like to do that with my family (4 adults) 11 January 17 January 2025. Is it possible to change the accommodation for us? Hostels are not good for us, can you arrange just basic standard hotel rooms with private bathrooms please?
- G AdventuresOperator•Written November 2024
Unfortunately, we cannot change the hostels as this is what makes up the itinerary and the package price for the tour. We can, however, suggest you look at our other styled tours to Japan where our accommodation is hotels.

Asked on November 6th, 2024Is there an option to acquire an audio translator in Spanish during the tour?
- G AdventuresOperator•Written November 2024
All of our tours are operated in English; there is no option to purchase an audio translator.

Asked on October 27th, 2024My 19 year old daughter is thinking of joining her friend's family tour group to Japan. She has severe food allergies and does not speak Japanese. What can you do to accommodate her multiple food allergies?
- G AdventuresOperator•Written October 2024
We are generally able to accommodate travellers with allergies and dietary restrictions, unless they are very severe. Would you be able to clarify what type of allergies your daughter has? All of our tours are operated in English and most of our travellers come from English-speaking countries.

Traveler•Written October 2024Malina has severe food allergies and cross contamination is a big risk. She is extremely allergic to dairy, gluten/wheat, sesame seeds/oil, nuts, beef, and lentils. She experiences anaphylaxis if she eats food allergens.
- C
Cindy
Traveler•Written October 2024At Japanese restaurants, she eats nigiri and sashimi with tamari/gluten free soy sauce and edamame/soybeans in the pod with salt. She also eats tofu. She loves all of these items.
- G AdventuresOperator•Written October 2024
Allergies are not usually an issue, however on our tours the travellers themselves are generally responsible (with the help of their guide as a translator) for picking their own meals. The group will usually visit a restaurant and choose their own meal - the CEO guide can translate the menu and make the kitchen staff aware of the allergies but that is as much assistance as they can offer.

Asked on October 25th, 2024One person in our group has many food allergies, including nuts, dairy, and wheat. Will any of the accommodations on this trip have access to a kitchen in case this person needs to make their own food?
- G AdventuresOperator•Written October 2024
For Japan we do have the ability to cater for food allergies on our tours, but this has to be noted down on your profile as soon as you book to notify our local team. Please note it does mean that travellers meal options will be very limited. With regards to access to kitchens at accommodations, normally you will not have any access to kitchens during the tour as most accommodations will not allow anyone to prepare their own food.

Traveler•Written October 2024If only two of the girls travel, would it be possible to have them in a four-parson dorm at the Imano Tokyo Ginza Hostel, and then just pay the extra for the two extra unused spots so that they could have the room to themselves? Or, does that hostel have the option of a two person room that we can pay more for? Just so the girls can be by themselves?
- G AdventuresOperator•Written October 2024
We're unable to take rooming requests on this tour. The travellers would be roomed with other travellers from the tour during that night.

Ashley
Traveler•Written October 2024Will they be able to check into their room in the morning since the tour officially begins the day prior? Could you please arrange seats on the bullet train back to Tokyo on the last day in Kyoto? The girls would LOVE to visit the Ghibli Museum when they return to Tokyo. Are you able to help arrange securing 2 tickets for them? And if yes, how do we pay you for them?
- G AdventuresOperator•Written October 2024
Check in will be around 3pm, they can store luggage at the hotel but the room will not be available until then, unless they pay for an extra night before. We cannot assist with train reservations or the visit to Ghibli Museum they must do this themselves, or if they speak to their tour guide on day one at the welcome meeting they can also assist.
