Itinerary
- Day 1
Cairo
A driver meets you at Cairo Airport and takes you to your hotel. After you settle in, the day is yours to rest up from traveling.

- Day 2
Cairo - Pyramids of Giza - Aswan
You'll start the morning at the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, where a guide takes you through these ancient structures. The scale of them is something else when you're standing right there. After that, you head to the Grand Egyptian Museum to see King Tutankhamun's collection, including his golden funerary mask and various artifacts from thousands of years back. There's also a stop at a government-supervised Papyrus Museum where you can learn about ancient Egyptian paper and writing. By evening you'll be boarding an overnight train headed south to Aswan, so you can sleep during the journey and arrive fresh for the next part of your trip.

Aswan
Your train pulls in early this morning and you'll check into your hotel. Later, take a boat to Agilika Island for a guided tour of Philae Temple, which honors the goddess Isis. On the way back, stop at a perfume oil shop, then spend the rest of the day wandering Aswan's colorful markets or relaxing by the pool with views of the Nile at sunset.

Aswan
The choice is yours this morning: join an optional early tour to the Temples of Ramses II at Abu Simbel, or take it easy in Aswan. By afternoon, you'll have time to explore Egypt's southernmost city on your own.

- Day 5
Aswan to Luxor
This morning, drive to Kom Ombo to see the ancient temple built for Sobek, the crocodile god. From there, continue on to Luxor, where you can see the Valley of the Kings and Temple of Karnak. Spend the rest of the day exploring this 4000-year-old city at your own pace.

- Day 6
Luxor
The morning is free, so you can swim at the pool or walk around Luxor, which people call the world's greatest open-air museum. In the afternoon, join a guided tour of Temple of Karnak, the massive religious complex dedicated to the Theban gods. Later this evening, there's an optional tour of the illuminated Temple of Luxor if you're interested.

Luxor to Cairo
Head to Luxor's West Bank this morning for a guided tour of the Valley of the Kings, where you can enter three decorated pharaohs' tombs. You'll see the 18-meter-high Colossi of Memnon, then tour Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Back at the hotel by afternoon, you'll have time to relax before boarding the overnight train to Cairo this evening.

Cairo to Amman
Your train arrives back in Cairo this morning. From here, you can head to Cairo Airport yourself for your flight to Jordan, or the operator can arrange a transfer. Once you land in Amman, you'll get a transfer to your hotel and the rest of the day is yours to explore.

- Day 9
Amman to Jerash to Umm Qais to Amman
Head north to Jerash, called the 'Pompeii of the East,' one of the best-kept Decapolis cities built over 2000 years ago. Walk through the colonnaded street, see the amphitheater, nymphaeum, and forum. Next, go to Umm Qais with its black-basalt ruins and views over the Sea of Galilee and Golan Heights. This evening, grab dinner and walk along Rainbow Street to check out Amman's modern scene with bars, rooftop restaurants, and art studios.

- Day 10
Amman to Madaba to Mount Nebo to Umm ar Rasas to Petra
Start with the citadel and Archaeological Museum in Amman, then try falafel and hummus at a popular local spot. Head to Mt. Nebo to see the views Moses once saw, with the Jordan River Valley, Dead Sea, Jericho, and Mt. of Olives spread out below. After that, visit Madaba to tour St George Church, the Archaeological Park, Apostles Church, and Museum. Stop at Umm ar-Rasas, a World Heritage site, to see the mosaic floor and tower. You'll arrive at Petra in the evening.

Petra
Spend your day at Petra, the UNESCO World Heritage site first settled around the 6th century BC by the Nabataeans. Walk through the narrow Siq canyon to see Al-Khazneh (The Treasury), or ride a horse through if you prefer. Wander through the city and see tombs, temples, the amphitheater, and a Roman street. If you're up for the climb, hike up the rock-cut steps to Ad-Deir (the Monastery) for views from the top.

Petra to Wadi Rum
This morning, you can go back to Petra if you want to see more. In the afternoon, drive to Wadi Rum, a vast desert landscape filled with colorful sand and distinctive rock formations called jebels. Climb into 4x4 jeeps for a desert safari across the dunes. That night, eat Jordanian food at your camp in the desert.

- Day 13
Wadi Rum to Shobak to Wadi Mujib to Dead Sea
After breakfast at the camp, head north to Shobak Castle, a dramatic hilltop fortress built by Crusader king Baldwin I in 1115. Then descend 1300 meters to the Dead Sea, the world's lowest point at over 400 meters below sea level. Float in the mineral-rich water and try the black mud for a spa-like experience. If you're traveling April through October, you'll also trek the moderate Siq Trail at Wadi Mujib.
