- Day 1
Delhi
You'll start by arriving in Delhi and getting oriented to the city's layers of history. Head to India Gate to walk around this iconic structure, then make your way to Chandni Chowk where you can navigate the narrow lanes and try various street foods like chaat, kebabs, and fresh juices. Later in the evening, head to Red Fort for the Light & Sound Show that plays after sunset, which takes you through the fort's historical events and stories.

Agra
You'll need an early start to reach Taj Mahal for sunrise, which means heading out around 5 or 6 AM from your hotel. The soft morning light hitting the white marble is particularly nice at that hour. After spending time there, move on to Agra Fort to see the red sandstone structure and get perspectives of the Taj from the fort walls. Stop by Mehtab Bagh later in the morning for different views across the river, then explore the local bazaars in the afternoon. Before wrapping up, try some Petha, the local sweet that Agra is known for.

- Day 3
Jaipur
You're traveling toward Jaipur today with a stop at Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned Mughal city that feels quite different from typical tourist spots. Walk through and check out Buland Darwaza (the gate of victory) and Salim Chishti's Tomb, which sits within the complex. From there, continue to Jaipur and visit Birla Mandir and Albert Hall Museum to get a sense of the city's culture and architecture. Later, head to Nahargarh Fort on the hills overlooking Jaipur and time it so you're there for sunset to see the Pink City light up below.

Jaipur
Start your day with an elephant ride up to Amber Fort, which is a popular way to approach the structure (though you can also go by jeep if you prefer). Once there, explore the fort's rooms and courtyards. After coming down, head to Hawa Mahal, the pink five-story structure with small windows, and walk through City Palace, which still functions as a royal residence in parts. Check out Jantar Mantar, the astronomical observation site. Spend time browsing Jaipur's markets for textiles, pottery, and traditional crafts, then have dinner at a Rajasthani restaurant and try Dal Baati Churma, the regional specialty.

Jaipur to Varanasi
Spend the morning going through Jaipur's local bazaars for any last-minute shopping or souvenirs you want to pick up. In the afternoon, head to the train station and board an overnight train headed to Varanasi. You'll settle into your berth and spend the evening traveling, moving from Rajasthan's desert landscape toward the Ganges River valley and one of India's oldest cities.

- Day 6
Varanasi
You'll arrive in Varanasi, a city that feels completely different from anywhere you've been on this trip. Head to Kashi Vishwanath Temple to experience the spiritual energy and see pilgrims coming to pray at one of Hinduism's holiest sites. Walk down to Dashashwamedh Ghat along the Ganges River and take in the activity and atmosphere there. As evening approaches, position yourself for the Ganga Aarti ritual, where thousands of oil lamps are lit and floated or held up in a choreographed ceremony along the river, creating a powerful spiritual moment.

- Day 7
Ayodhya
You're traveling to Ayodhya, a significant pilgrimage destination believed to be where Lord Ram was born. Visit Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, the main religious site, then go to Hanuman Garhi, another temple in the area. Spend some quiet time by the Saryu River, which is peaceful and important in the local spiritual tradition. Delhi Departure
Your trip through India comes to an end today. Depending on when your flight departs, you might have a few hours to explore more of Delhi, visit a museum you missed, or just relax at your hotel.
