Chengdu
You'll arrive at Chengdu Airport and head straight to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to settle in and relax, or if you're feeling up to it, wander over to Jinli Pedestrian Street. This 550-meter food street is where locals spend their evenings, so it's a good spot to grab dinner and get a feel for how the city operates. The street has tons of small vendors selling everything from snacks to full meals, so you can sample different things as you walk around.

You'll walk across some suspension bridges and get explanations of how this engineering feat actually functions. From there, it's on to Qingcheng Mountain, one of China's four major Taoist mountains. You'll stop at temples along the way, and then you can choose to either hike to the summit or take the cable car up.
