You'll land in Windhoek and get settled at your hotel. The afternoon gives you time to walk through the craft markets, take care of currency exchange, and grab dinner at Joe's Beerhouse. Before bed, your guide will brief you on what's coming next across the desert, delta, and falls.

Windhoek to Sossusvlei
After breakfast you'll head southwest from the city into the Khomas Highlands and then through wide plains with camelthorn dunes scattered about. By afternoon you'll reach the desert lodge and have refreshments. Later, you'll take a sundowner drive across the private reserve to see how the Namib's light changes as the sun sets, then dinner under the stars.

- Day 3
Sossusvlei
Before dawn you're heading out to Sossusvlei to watch Dune 45 light up with the sunrise. You'll climb to the ridge, then move on to Deadvlei where the crimson dunes and dead trees create an otherworldly setting. Picnic breakfast includes explanation of the desert ecosystem. Back at the lodge for lunch while it's hot outside, then you can rest or do an optional nature walk. Stargazing happens after dinner.

Sossusvlei to Swakopmund
The drive west from the interior takes you past dramatic canyons as the landscape changes. You'll descend to sea level and arrive in Swakopmund where the ocean air feels refreshing after the desert heat. Check in at your hotel, then stroll the seaside promenade and check out artisan markets. The evening is open for finding a restaurant that appeals to you.

Swakopmund

End with a sunset walk along the promenade.
