- Day 1
Bogotá
You'll arrive in Bogotá and get oriented with a private guide who'll walk you through the historic La Candelaria district. The neighborhood has narrow colonial streets and some real character. You'll pick either the Gold Museum or Botero Museum depending on your preference, then head up to Monserrate Hill by cable car for views over the entire city sprawling below you. It's a full day of getting your bearings in the capital.

- Day 2
Bogotá
This day trip takes you outside Bogotá to see the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, which is carved inside a salt mine about 180 meters underground. It's quite a sight with its different levels and chambers. From there you'll visit the Guatavita Lagoon, which has that El Dorado legend attached to it and sits high in the mountains. You'll head back to Bogotá in the afternoon, giving you time to rest after the drive.

Bogotá to Eje Cafetero
You'll travel into Colombia's coffee region and arrive in Salento, a charming mountain town with colorful buildings and a slower pace of life. Spend the day exploring at your own pace, walking around the central plaza and side streets. Grab a cup of fresh local coffee somewhere and just get a feel for the place before diving into more activities tomorrow.

- Day 4
Eje Cafetero
Start by checking out Salento and Filandia with their colonial architecture and town centers. Then you'll head to Cocora Valley for a 2 to 3 hour hike through the towering wax palms, which are the tallest palms in the world and really dominate the landscape. After lunch, you'll do a coffee tour at El Ocaso plantation where they'll show you the whole process from crop to cup. By evening you'll explore some of Filandia's main landmarks before heading back.

Eje Cafetero
A local guide will take you through several small villages in the Cordillera mountains. You'll visit Pijao, which has certification for sustainable living practices, then move to Buenavista for its viewpoints over the valleys. Later in the afternoon you'll stop at a cacao farm where they'll walk you through how they grow and process cacao for chocolate. It's a day focused on the region's local agriculture and how communities operate here.

Your guide will explain the history and the inspiring changes the area has gone through over the past couple decades.

Medellín
On this shared excursion to Guatapé you'll climb the iconic Peñol Rock, which involves about 650 steps but gives you views across the reservoir and countryside. Afterward you'll walk through the town's colorful streets with their decorated zócalos, which are ornamental stone relief designs covering the lower walls of buildings. It's a nice mix of outdoor activity and local culture.

Medellín

Medellín to Cartagena
You'll arrive in Cartagena de Indias, the Caribbean coastal city with colonial charm. A 4 hour city tour covers major spots including the San Felipe Castle, a fortress with its own history and views from the walls. You'll see the walled old city with its colorful buildings and learn about the area's colonial past. It's your introduction to this Caribbean side of Colombia.
