Kilimanjaro International Airport to Moshi/Arusha
Your driver-guide will meet you when you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport. After a 45-minute drive to Moshi or Arusha, your professional guide walks through what to expect on the climb and checks your equipment. If you're missing any gear, you can rent it right there in town.

Machame Gate to Machame Camp
The mountain support crew meets you at the hotel for a quick briefing, then you'll head to Machame Gate to enter Kilimanjaro National Park. After getting your climbing permits and registering with search and rescue, the actual trek begins. You'll hike 5 km over about 5 to 6 hours, going from 1,800 m up to 3,010 m at Machame Camp.

Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Following breakfast, you trek toward Shira Camp as the rainforest opens up and you get your first look at the Shira Plateau. The hiking is manageable, though you might feel the altitude shifting. Once you arrive, you'll rest and grab lunch, then do an acclimatization hike toward Lava Tower (gaining 300 meters) before heading back to Shira Camp for dinner. This covers 5 km in roughly 4 to 5 hours.

- Day 4
Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
After breakfast, you'll tackle the challenging trek to Lava Tower at 4,630 m, with plenty of ups and downs along the way. You'll spend 1 to 2 hours there for acclimatization and lunch, then descend to Barranco Camp where you can see the famous Barranco Wall. That steep landmark is what you'll climb tomorrow. The route is 11 km over about 6 to 8 hours.

- Day 5
Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp
An early breakfast gets you started before climbing Barranco Wall, which takes roughly an hour. After that, you'll rest and take photos of Kibo volcano, then face a tougher hike to Karanga Camp with multiple climbs and descents. Lunch happens at Karanga, and then you continue to Barafu Camp where you'll have dinner and sleep before the night summit attempt. Today totals 11 km over 8 to 10 hours.

Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Millennium Camp
You'll leave Barafu Camp at night heading for Uhuru Peak at 5,895 m. The route itself isn't technically difficult, but the extreme altitude is the real challenge. Each pair of climbers has a personal guide watching your condition throughout. After summiting, you can optionally visit the nearby glacier, then return to Barafu for a 2-hour rest. Next comes the descent to Millennium Camp, which covers 15 km over 8 to 12 hours total.

- Day 7
Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate
Starting in the tropical rainforest at Millennium Camp, you'll descend to Mweka Gate, the park's official exit. The 12 km descent takes about 4 to 5 hours. At Mweka Gate, the group gathers for congratulations and you can write about your experience in the guestbook. You'll receive your commemorative climbing certificate, then head back to your hotel.
