Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Bogotá
You'll touch down in Bogotá and meet your local German-speaking guide right at arrivals. After grabbing your luggage, head to your hotel in the colonial old town to get settled in for the evening.



- Day 2
Bogotá City Tour
This morning you'll walk through La Candelaria, the colonial heart of the capital, stopping by Bolívar Square and historic churches. The Botero Museum is next on the list, then you'll take the cable car up Monserrate Mountain for views across the city. Later, hit a local café to try Colombian highland coffee and learn how they brew it differently up here.

Gold Museum, Salt Cathedral, and Villa de Leyva
After breakfast, head straight to the Gold Museum to see what they've got. Then drive north to Zipaquira and check out the salt cathedral carved right into the mountain. You'll pass through Chiquinquirá and Raquira before arriving in Villa de Leyva, where you'll check into a colonial hotel. The afternoon gives you time to wander the cobbled streets and take in the colonial architecture.

- Day 4
Villa de Leyva Exploration
Start your morning walking around Villa de Leyva's large plaza and checking out the colonial buildings scattered throughout. The Ecce Homo monastery from the 1600s is worth seeing, and you'll get to look at dinosaur fossils that are over 150 million years old. After that, visit one of the tropical wineries to learn about the region's microclimate and taste some local wine. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore more of the village.

Villa de Leyva to Cartagena
Continue exploring Villa de Leyva this morning, then head back toward Bogotá around midday with a stop at Boyacá Bridge, where Simón Bolívar fought a key battle against Spanish forces. From there, drive straight to the airport for your one-hour flight to Cartagena on the Caribbean coast. Your hotel in the old town by the sea is waiting for you.

- Day 6
Cartagena Colonial Tour
After breakfast, explore Cartagena's colonial old town with its 11 kilometers of fortifications and historic buildings. Make your way up to San Felipe fortress for views out over the city and Caribbean Sea. Next, visit the Convento de la Popa, a convent from 1607 where Pope John Paul II stopped by in 1986. The afternoon is free, so spend time soaking in the atmosphere, maybe catch the sunset, and watch horse-drawn carriages roll through the streets.

Cartagena to Panama City
Head to the airport and fly into Panama. Your driver meets you at the exit and takes you to your hotel in the city center, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and bars where you can explore on your own.

Panama City Tour
Start at the 16th-century ruins of Panama Viejo, then walk through Casco Antiguo, the oldest part of the city and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site full of colonial buildings, art galleries, and modern bars. You'll head to the Causeway for skyline views, then check out the Miraflores locks of the Panama Canal to watch massive ships pass through this crucial waterway.

Panama City to Boquete
Early transfer to Albrook National Airport for your 45-minute flight to David. From there, drive to Boquete, a charming mountain town known for its spring-like climate and friendly people. The area grows flowers, coffee, vegetables, and citrus. Later this afternoon, take a short guided hike through the countryside with a local English-speaking guide, and you might spot the rare quetzal bird.

- Day 10
Boquete Adventures

Boquete to Bocas del Toro
Your driver takes you across the Cordillera de Talamanca, a drive of just over 2 hours. Then board a water cab for 45 minutes to reach Isla Colón with its relaxed Caribbean vibe, bars, restaurants, and souvenir shops. The afternoon is yours to explore, or you can rent kayaks and bicycles, check out Playa Bluff beach, or take a water cab to Carenero for drinks.

- Day 12
Bocas del Toro Island Tour
Head out on a boat through mangrove forests watching for water birds, then stop at Coral Cay for snorkeling in calm, clear water. Local restaurants built on stilts serve fresh seafood. Later, continue to Isla Bastimentos, a jungle-covered island you can only reach by boat. Red Frog Beach is famous here for its red poison dart frogs. Walk jungle trails or just relax before heading back to the main island in the afternoon.

This morning is free to do what you want. Rent bicycles, take water cabs to other islands and beaches, or just relax. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Panama City and then to your hotel.
