Itinerary
- Day 1
Amsterdam
Head down to the AMADEUS Riva this afternoon and get settled into your luxury stateroom. You'll have a Welcome Cocktail followed by a special Welcome Dinner, then relax as the Shanty Choir performs to wrap up your first evening. The ship stays overnight in Amsterdam so you can rest up before departing tomorrow.

Amsterdam to Utrecht to Cologne
The morning is yours to wander around Amsterdam on your own, or you can join an optional relaxing canal cruise if that appeals to you. Board the ship by 12:30pm for lunch, then the vessel departs at 8:30am upstream from Utrecht toward Cologne. It's a gentle start to your river journey with plenty of time to settle in.

- Day 3
Cologne
After breakfast you'll arrive at the cathedral city of Cologne. Walk through the historic Old Town with its High Gothic architecture and famous twin-spired cathedral on your own, or join a guided walking tour if you prefer. Try some of the local Kölsch beer that's brewed here. In the afternoon, you can relax on deck or head out to Siebengebirge National Park and check out the ruins of Drachenfels Castle. Dinner happens on board as the ship continues cruising downstream.

Moselle River Valley - Cochem
This morning you'll cruise down the Moselle River, Germany's 5th largest wine region, where the landscape features some seriously steep terraced vineyards along the water. You'll arrive in Cochem after lunch and can explore the medieval town with its narrow streets and historic gates on your own, or join a guided tour to visit Reichsburg Castle. Later in the afternoon, head to a local winery to sample Moselle wines. The ship continues toward Koblenz after 9:45pm.

Koblenz - Rüdesheim
You'll arrive in Koblenz early this morning where the Rhine and Moselle Rivers meet. Join a guided walking tour of the town to get oriented. This afternoon, cruise through the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site with vineyards and castles throughout. By late afternoon you'll reach Rüdesheim and can choose between a walking tour with a visit to the Mechanical Music Cabinet Museum, or a wine tasting at a local vineyard with a walk through the Drosselgasse wine tavern district. Dinner is on board.

Mannheim - Speyer
The ship docks in Mannheim before breakfast, which is your gateway to an optional excursion to nearby Heidelberg if you want to see the old university city and its famous castle ruins. This afternoon you'll arrive at Speyer, a historic city known for its magnificent cathedral. Join a guided tour to explore one of Germany's oldest cities and learn about the Speyer Brezel, a German staple. Tonight the ship sails to Strasbourg.

Strasbourg
You'll arrive this morning in Strasbourg, the capital of Alsace. The city has the famous Strasbourg Cathedral and the charming Petite France quarter with medieval half-timbered houses and covered bridges. Join a guided canal boat excursion to see the city, including the Palais de Rohan and Council of Europe. Have lunch on board, then cruise toward Switzerland along the Rhine.

Basel
