- Day 1
Launceston to Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park
You'll arrive in Launceston and meet your guide around 11:30 am at the airport or transit center. From there, you'll drive toward Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park, passing through Sheffield on the way, a small town known for its mural artwork. By afternoon you'll reach the national park and get settled into your accommodation.

Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park
After breakfast, you head out on a 2.5-hour hike to Dove Lake, a glacier-fed lake in the park (shorter options are available if you prefer). The walk takes you through alpine forests with native plants and wildlife around you, and the views of the mountain region are really something. You'll have the rest of the afternoon free to wander around on your own.

Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park to Mount Field National Park
This morning you'll visit Deloraine, a small town with shops and galleries where you might see a platypus near the Meander River if you're lucky. After that, you cross the Tasmanian Plateau and pass through an area with views of the 1000 Lakes plateau. Keep an eye out for hidden sculptures and native animals along the route. You'll arrive at Mount Field National Park in the afternoon, then finish the evening with dinner at a local pub.

Mount Field National Park to Hobart
You'll explore Mount Field National Park after breakfast, Tasmania's oldest national park with enormous eucalyptus trees, waterfalls in thick rainforest, and landscapes shaped by glaciers. Later you'll head to Bonorong wildlife station to see Tasmanian devils, wombats, kangaroos, and other native animals up close while learning about their habitats and conservation. By late afternoon, you'll return to Hobart where your guide will say goodbye.

Hobart
You have free time in Hobart until your airport transfer (arranged 2 hours before your flight). Check out the Salamanca Market if it's Saturday, where over 500 stalls sell local products, or walk through the harbor district and historic Battery Point area. Your transfer to the airport will be ready when you need it.
