Itinerary
- Day 1
Cairo
You'll land in Cairo and get transferred to your hotel. The afternoon and evening are open for what you want to do. If you're not too tired from traveling, there are a couple of options worth considering: grab dinner at a restaurant overlooking the Nile River, or head out to catch the sound and light show at the Pyramids. It's a nice way to ease into the trip without overdoing it on your first day.

- Day 2
Cairo
This morning you're heading to Giza Plateau to see the Pyramids. The three great pyramids are there: Cheops (Khufu), which is the largest and was built using over 2.5 million limestone blocks, along with Chephren and Mycerinus. After that, you'll travel to Memphis to see the massive statue of Ramses II, then continue on to Saqqara. There you can walk through the necropolis and check out King Zhoser's Step Pyramid, which architect Imhotep built back in 2700 BC.

- Day 3
Cairo
Start your morning at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, a large complex that holds artifacts spanning nearly every period of ancient Egyptian history. You'll see treasures from King Tutankhamun and some items on display for the first time. Later, head to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo to view mummies of Yuya and Thuyu, plus statues, jewelry, and sarcophagi. By afternoon, you'll make your way to Khan El Khalili Bazaar to walk around the marketplace and shop for souvenirs.

Cairo to Aswan
After breakfast, catch a short flight south to Aswan and check into your hotel. This afternoon, you're visiting Philae Temple, which sits on nearby Agilika Island. The temple was dedicated to the goddess Isis and was moved stone by stone there during the 1970s to protect it from rising water levels. You'll also see the Aswan High Dam, which is quite impressive to view.

- Day 5
Abu Simbel - Aswan
Get an early start today for a short flight further south to Abu Simbel. There you'll see the temples built to honor King Ramses II, with four colossal statues of the pharaoh guarding the entrance. The temple was carved into a mountain between 1290 and 1224 BC. Back in Aswan by afternoon, you'll have free time to browse the colorful souqs and markets or just relax. Later, board your luxury Nile cruiser for a 3-night journey downriver.

- Days 6 - 7
Nile Cruise
You'll spend two relaxing days on your luxury cruiser watching riverside villages from the top deck. On the first day moored, you'll visit Kom Ombo Temple, which actually has two temples in one: one dedicated to the crocodile-headed god Sobek and another to the falcon god Horus. On the second day, you'll reach Luxor's west bank for a guided tour of the Valley of the Kings where pharaohs were buried in lavishly decorated tombs. From there, you'll see the Temple of Hatshepsut and the towering Colossi of Memnon.

- Day 8
Luxor
After a relaxed breakfast, you'll leave the cruiser and head to Karnak Temple, a huge complex with sanctuaries, pylons, chapels, halls, and obelisks dedicated to the Theban gods and Egypt's rulers from the Middle and New Kingdom periods. Later in the day, you'll visit Luxor Temple, which was dedicated to Amun with construction starting during Amenhotep III's reign in the 14th century BC. The rest of your day is free to spend at your hotel however you like.

Luxor to Cairo
Today wraps up your Egypt trip. A transfer takes you to Luxor Airport to catch your flight back to Cairo, where the tour officially ends. If you want to stay longer and see more of Cairo, you can arrange an extra night there before heading home.
