- Day 1
Johannesburg
Your flight departs in the evening, getting you to Johannesburg by nightfall. It's a long journey, so settle in for the overnight travel and you'll arrive ready to start exploring South Africa.
- Day 2
Johannesburg
Your driver meets you at the airport. If you land around midday, there's an optional orientation tour through Johannesburg's hip Maboneng and Newtown districts where you can walk through galleries, boutiques and restaurants. Those arriving later head straight to the hotel to rest up. By evening, you'll join your guide for dinner.

Johannesburg to Hazyview
You're heading to Mpumalanga province today to check out the Blyde River Canyon Panorama Route. Stop at the Three Rondavels and Bourke's Luck Potholes viewpoints before reaching your lodge in Hazyview at Kruger's gates. Dinner happens in the traditional boma if weather allows.

Kruger National Park
Spend your day on game drives through Kruger National Park by coach, searching for the Big Five: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino. There's an optional open vehicle safari with a local ranger if you want a closer look at the wildlife.

Hazyview to Pretoria
After leaving the park, you're heading back toward Johannesburg with a stop in Pretoria, South Africa's administrative capital. Your guide shows you government buildings and the Mandela statue before continuing toward Johannesburg.

Johannesburg to Knysna
Your current guide says goodbye at Johannesburg airport, and then you fly to Port Elizabeth where a new guide meets you. From there, you drive to Tsitsikamma Forest to walk to the Big Tree, then follow the Garden Route to Knysna with its Victorian buildings, cafés and art galleries.

Knysna
Today's yours to spend however you like in Knysna. The town sits on a beautiful lagoon and is known for its oysters, so you can wander the waterfront and explore at your own speed. Boat trips are available if you're interested, or there's an optional excursion to Featherbed Nature Reserve with boat and tractor rides, a guided hike, and lunch.

Knysna to Oudtshoorn
You're driving over the Outeniqua Pass into the Little Karoo to reach Oudtshoorn. Explore the famous Cango Caves and experience their unique acoustics during a musical tasting. After crossing the scenic Swartberg Pass, head to Kobus se Gat for traditional South African farm cuisine like braai, potjiekos, ostrich steak or Karoo lamb.

If you booked the optional meerkat safari, you're up early to watch these animals emerge at sunrise. Otherwise, sleep in. After breakfast, everyone drives to Cape Town through the Little Karoo via Calitzdorp, Barrydale and the Tradouw Pass, then along the N2 over beautiful passes.

- Day 10
Cape Town
Start with a drive up Table Mountain for city views over Cape Town and Table Bay, weather permitting. Then head to Bo-Kaap, the colorful Malay quarter, where you learn to prepare simple Malay dishes with a private family and taste your creations. After strolling through Company's Garden, your last stop is the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

Explore Cape Town on your own, or join an optional full-day excursion to Cape of Good Hope. The excursion takes you along Chapmans Peak by the Atlantic to Hout Bay, then through fishing villages to Cape of Good Hope. Use the funicular and walk to the highest viewpoint, visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach, then return to Cape Town.

Everyone meets up in the evening for a farewell dinner.
