Your journey to Japan starts today with travel arrangements all set. You'll be heading out on your flights to begin this trip across Japan and Korea.

Tokyo
You'll arrive in Tokyo and have the rest of the day to yourself. Walk around the area, grab some food, and get familiar with the city at your own pace.

- Day 3
Tokyo
Today you can explore Tokyo independently or join the optional group excursion. If you go with the group, you'll see Meji Shrine, walk through the trendy Harajuku district, take in views from Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, visit Buddhist Kannon Temple in Asakusa, and check out the 634-meter Sky Tree. The day wraps up with dinner together at a traditional izakaya.

Tokyo to Hakone
After breakfast, you'll take a bus from Tokyo to Kamakura (130 km drive). There you'll see Hasedera Temple with its large wooden Kannon statue and the Great Buddha. Later, you'll travel through bamboo forests and past rice fields into Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. A boat ride on Lake Ashi gives you chances to see Mount Fuji if conditions cooperate. By evening you'll soak in an onsen at your hotel.

Hakone to Kyoto
You'll catch a train to Odawara and then board the Shinkansen to Kyoto. A typical Japanese lunch box comes with your journey. Once you arrive, you'll visit Fushimi Inari Shrine with its thousands of red shrine gates. In the evening, there's an option to explore the atmospheric geisha district of Gion if you'd like.

- Day 6
Kyoto
This morning starts at Ryoanji, a Zen temple known for its rock garden. From there you'll head to the Golden Pavilion at Kinkakuji Temple with its striking gold roof. Next comes Nijo Castle and its artistic design. You'll grab lunch at the traditional market street Nishiki-dori, then browse the lively shopping areas of Shijo and Kawaramachi. If interested, you can have a shabushabu meat fondue dinner at a Japanese inn and meet a young Kyoto maiko.

You have the option to explore Kyoto on your own or join the optional day trip (100 km). With the group, you'd see the White Heron Castle in Himeji and the Kokoen garden complex with its restrained aesthetics. In the afternoon, visit the large Buddha hall at Todaiji Temple in Nara and see the city's tame sika deer.

Seoul
Today you can join an optional Seoul excursion. The group will explore the vast grounds of Gyeongbokgung Royal Palace to learn about Korea's royal history. Then you'll check out the Myeongdong district for K-pop, pop culture, and fashion. In the afternoon, visit the Korean War Memorial and enjoy evening views from Lotte World Tower.

Seoul to Daegu
A bus will take you 330 km to Gayasan National Park where Haeinsa Temple sits in the landscape. You'll continue to Daegu and have time to relax at your hotel after the travel.

Daegu to Gyeongju
You'll travel by bus 160 km to Gyeongju, called the 'Museum without Walls'. Visit Bulguksa Temple with its stone terraces and the Seokguram Grotto containing a monumental Buddha figure (both from the 8th century and UNESCO World Heritage Sites). The Gyeongju National Museum shows the history and art of the ancient Silla Empire. Later, see the Donggung Palace at Anapchi Pond, which was faithfully rebuilt.

Gyeongju to Busan
You'll start at Jagalchi Market, South Korea's largest fish market, and check out views from Busan Tower. Walk through Gamcheon Culture Village to learn about South Korea's recent history. Later, explore the beautiful Dongbaek Park on a peninsula and walk along the coast to the trendy Haeundae waterfront with South Korea's most beautiful beach. By evening, you'll share a final dinner reflecting on the trip.
