- Day 1
Arrival in Amman
You'll fly into Amman to kick off your Jordanian journey. After you arrive and settle in, the real adventure begins with several active days ahead. This sets the stage for exploring everything from ancient ruins to desert landscapes.
Landmarks/POIs Amman - Day 2
Ajlun Fortress - Jerash
Head out to Ajlun Fortress, a hilltop structure built by Saladin's nephew back in the 1180s. From there, hike the Scenic Viewpoint Trail through rolling green hills where you can see across to the Jordan Valley. By afternoon, drive to Jerash and walk through the ancient Roman trading town, checking out some remarkably intact monuments from centuries past.

Madaba - Mount Nebo - Dana Nature Reserve
Travel southwest along the King's Highway toward Madaba to see the famous 6th-century mosaic map of Palestine. Stop at Kirbet El-Mekhayat for the Church of Lot and Prokop remains, then climb up Mount Nebo. On clear days you'll see all the way to the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea. Later, push on to Dana Nature Reserve before evening.

Dana Biosphere Reserve
Spend the day in Dana, the Middle East's most significant biosphere reserve with nearly 900 plant species and wildlife like Nubian ibex and desert lynx. Visit Dana Village to learn what the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature does there. You'll hike through different terrain, moving through gorges and juniper forests with great views throughout.

Landmarks/POIs Dana Nature Reserve Dana Village - Day 5
Petra
Today is all about Petra, the UNESCO-listed archaeological site carved into red sandstone cliffs. Walk through the Siq gorge entrance, see the major structures, then climb to the High Place of Sacrifice for views of ancient ruins spread across the valley. On the way back, cut through Wadi Farasa where tombs line the path. Watch how the light hits the colorful rock faces.

Little Petra - Ed Deir Monastery
From El-Beidha, hike through Little Petra's narrow mountain passages (you'll need good footing here). Navigate strange rock formations and gorges before reaching the rock city through the Ed Deir monastery at the top of a high plateau. Descend by walking down roughly 800 rock-cut steps past the Lion Triclinium tomb into the valley with views of royal tomb facades.

Petra to Wadi Rum
After breakfast you'll leave Petra and head to Wadi Rum, known for its red sand, dramatic dunes, and rock arches. Board an off-road vehicle at the Bedouin station and drive out to Lawrence Spring, where T.E. Lawrence reportedly bathed. Stop at Khazali Gorge for a short walk to see ancient rock paintings, with a chance to climb sand dunes if you feel like it.

Wadi Rum - Bedouin Experience
Travel through Wadi Rum following traditional Bedouin routes across the changing landscape of dunes and rock formations. Share lunch with a Bedouin family featuring lamb cooked in an earth oven (fire pit). Sit together over tea and hear how the early desert nomads lived, getting a real sense of daily life out here.

Landmarks/POIs Wadi Rum - Day 9
Wadi Mujib - Dead Sea
Drive through Wadi Araba toward the Dead Sea, then hike into Wadi Mujib's deeply carved gorges dropping about 50 meters. Navigate through the narrow wadi along the river (bring bathing shoes). If water levels or weather close the Siq Trail, you'll hike the Ibex Trail instead. Either way, you'll finish at the Dead Sea.

Landmarks/POIs Wadi Mujib Dead Sea - Day 10
Dead Sea Relaxation
After breakfast, float in the Dead Sea at the lowest point on earth. The salty, mineral-rich water keeps you buoyant, so just lean back and float. It's surreal and something you'll definitely remember long after you get home.

Departure
Head to the airport for your flight home. If you want to stay longer, you can extend and spend extra days relaxing under the Jordanian sun before you leave.
