Reviews of Small Group tours to Jordan

It was good-hotels can be better
- Jordan Jewels - 8 Days
Overall it was very good - perhaps because I was the only person on the trip and so was able to change the agenda a bit. There was a bit of confusion as I had booked two nights before the start of tour at the Hotel (Torino) and when it came to the 3rd night (official start of the Tour) the hotel couldn't find the booking. I had booked through Vacations to Go on the Tour Radar site but it turned out the operating company was Jordan Attractions. This was quite a nuisance as I had to wait to meet the hotel manager w(I had to ring the emergency no to find this out as no-one had told me.) I am very glad I could arrange to stay at the Dead Sea rather than return to Amman as I would not have wanted either the extra travel or to stay another night at the Torino. My guide was excellent and looked after me very well. I knew exactly what I wanted from the trip and the itinerary matched my needs. The company did its best to accommodate me re extra hotel nights as I wanted to spend a few extra days in Aqaba however they wanted an extra $1000 for these bookings. When I questioned this they said I could book them myself if I could get cheaper - so I did, and for $350. I found that a bit strange. I would suggest to anyone to research exactly what they want from a tour quite thoroughly.
- Passage to Petra - 6 days
Glamping in Wadi Rum and a fantastic day in Petra.
What our customers ask about Jordan Small Group Tours
What are the typical group sizes for small group tours in Jordan?
Most small group tours in Jordan keep numbers between 8 and 16 participants which allows for easier movement through archaeological sites and desert landscapes. This size works well for navigating popular spots like Petra and lets travelers get to know their fellow adventurers. Local hotels like the Larsa in Amman can accommodate these groups comfortably without splitting them up. As one TourRadar traveler noted "The size of the group (16) was the maximum we would have wanted." These smaller numbers also make it easier to visit Bedouin communities and arrange special experiences.
How does the accommodation vary on small group tours in Jordan?
Accommodations on Jordan's small group tours range from urban hotels to desert camps offering different perspectives on the country. In Petra travelers often stay at established properties like the Petra Moon Hotel while Wadi Rum features traditional Bedouin camps such as The Captain's Camp. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The hotels recommended by our tour operator—Petra Moon Hotel The Captains Camp and Ramada Hotel—were very good offering both comfort and authentic experiences."
What is the best way to experience Petra with a small group tour?
Small group dynamics allow for strategic timing at Petra including early morning visits before the crowds arrive. Groups can take lesser-known paths like the back route to the Monastery and spend time at Little Petra without rushing. Hotels like the Movenpick Petra or Petra Guest House provide convenient bases for exploration. A TourRadar traveler shared: "With our small group we could move at our own pace through the Siq and spend extra time photographing the Treasury without feeling rushed."
How does the cultural experience in Jordan differ with small group tours?
Small numbers create more opportunities for genuine local connections whether in Bedouin camps or city markets. Groups can join cooking classes in Petra visit family homes for meals and explore Amman's bazaars without overwhelming local spaces. The setup at places like Sun City Camp in Wadi Rum and neighborhood restaurants like Al-Qantara allows for natural conversation with locals. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Being in a small group allowed us to have dinner with a local family and learn about Jordanian traditions in a way that wouldn't be possible with a large group."
