Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu

    You'll land at Kathmandu International Airport and get picked up for the drive to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to walk around the city and get oriented. Later that evening, there's a welcome dinner where you'll meet the group and learn about what's ahead.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing

    After breakfast, you're heading out for a full day touring Kathmandu Valley's main sites. Start at Durbar Square to see the historic temples and Newari architecture, then move on to Swayambhunath Stupa up on a hill with views across the valley. Next is Pashupatinath Temple along the Bagmati River, and you'll finish at Boudhanath, one of the largest Buddhist stupas anywhere. Back at your hotel by evening, there's a trek orientation session to prepare you for what's starting tomorrow.

  3. Day 3

    Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding

    You'll fly 30 minutes from Kathmandu to Lukla, flying over woodlands and mountain scenery the whole way. After settling in briefly, the trek begins with a descent through farmland and Sherpa villages. You'll check out the ancient Drangdrak Gompa and Pema Choling Gompa, both with views of Kumbila and Kusum Kanguru. Walking through more forests brings you to Phakding for the night (2,610 m/8,563 ft).

    Phakding to Namche Bazaar

    This morning you trek through villages like Zamphute and Tok Tok, catching views of Thamserku. Moving through Benkar, Chumoa, and Monjo, you'll stop at Utche Choling Gompa before entering Sagarmatha National Park where permits get checked. From here it gets steeper climbing toward Namche Bazaar. You'll cross a high bridge over the Dudh Koshi gorge, and if weather cooperates, you get your first look at Mt. Everest before reaching Namche (3,440 m/11,286 ft).

    Namche Bazaar (Acclimatization Day)

    Today you're taking it easy so your body adjusts to the altitude. Before sunrise, head out to a viewpoint to watch the peaks light up. After lunch, visit the Army post and the National Park Headquarters to see the Mahalangur range, Kwangde range, and various surrounding peaks including Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, Kangtega, and Khumbila.

  6. Day 6

    Namche Bazaar to Khumjung to Khunde

    You'll trek to Khumjung (3,790 m/12,434 ft), known locally as the valley inside the clouds. Along the way there are Mani stones and stupas to pass. Visit Khumjung Monastery which keeps a yeti scalp, then the school Sir Edmund Hillary built. Stop at Khunde Monastery too with mountains all around it, then head back to your teahouse for the night.

    Khumjung to Thyangboche to Pangboche

    Trekking down gradually to Teshinga, then you'll make a steep descent crossing rivers to reach Phunki Thangkha (3,250 m/10,662 ft). From there, it's uphill through wilderness past Mani walls toward Thyangboche (3,867 m/12,684 ft) with views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam spreading out in front. You'll drop through forests and cross a suspension bridge, then climb up to Pangboche (3,985 m/13,074 ft) where Ama Dablam looks particularly impressive.

    Pangboche to Ama Dablam Base Camp

    Wake up to hear the monks at the ancient monastery, then after breakfast head toward Ama Dablam base camp. Trek down to the Imja Khola banks, cross a bridge, and climb for a couple hours. You'll move through high pastures and pass a small lake, gradually climbing to Ama Dablam Base Camp (4,575 m/15,010 ft). From the camp, you see Lhotse, Nuptse, Lobuche, Thamserku, Cholatse, and glacier streams flowing through green meadows. After lunch and some time exploring, you head back down to Pangboche.

    Ama Dablam Base Camp to Monjo

    Trekking down today, crossing rivers and eventually reaching Monjo. The scenery along the way includes local landscapes, Sherpa villages, farmlands high up, and monasteries. Drop your pack at the teahouse and spend time talking with the local people around the settlement.

  10. Day 10

    Monjo to Lukla

    You're heading downward to the river basin, then a long uphill section takes you to Tengboche where Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse all come into view. Drop down to Phunki Tenga and climb through Teshinda and Kyanjuma. Following the high trail above the Dudh Koshi river, you work your way back to Namche Bazaar. After a rest, head south through forests of rhododendron and pine, passing villages like Jorsale, Monzo, Benkar, and Chaunrikhara. Leave the main trail for a short ridge climb up to Lukla where you'll celebrate finishing the trek.

    Lukla to Kathmandu

    After breakfast with mountain views, you head to the Lukla airstrip for the 30-minute flight back to Kathmandu. Once you land and get to your hotel, there's time to shop for souvenirs and gifts around the city. Join a farewell dinner that evening to celebrate completing the trek.

    • For any tour departing before February 17th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
