Halifax
You'll arrive in Halifax and get settled into accommodation right in the city center. There's a welcome meeting this evening where you'll meet your tour guide and the other travelers on the trip. The rest of the day is free for you to wander around and get your bearings.

Halifax to Moncton
Today you'll head out along the Bay of Fundy coastline to see the world's highest tides. The Joggins Fossil Cliffs are your first stop, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 300 million years of fossils on display. Later you'll have lobster for dinner aboard a lobster boat, then travel to Moncton for the night.

Moncton to Saint John
You'll check out Hopewell Rocks and see those distinctive flowerpot-shaped rock formations shaped by the tides. From there you'll drive through Fundy National Park to reach Saint John, Canada's first incorporated city. An included city tour shows you the Reversing Falls, where the Bay of Fundy tides actually make the Saint John River change direction twice daily.

St. Andrews by-the-Sea - Saint John
A day trip takes you to St. Andrews by-the-Sea where you'll have free time to explore the town. Later there's a boat tour for whale watching and sightseeing (weather permitting). You might spot minke whales, humpbacks, white-sided dolphins, or North Atlantic right whales along the coast. You'll return to Saint John for another night.

Saint John to Digby
You'll take the ferry back across to Nova Scotia and arrive in Digby, known as the scallop capital. This town has fresh sea air and Acadian culture throughout. After checking into your hotel with views of Annapolis Basin on the Bay of Fundy, you'll have the rest of the day free.

Digby to Halifax
The Annapolis Valley is where you'll spend today exploring the lush landscape and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Grand Pre, the first Acadian settlement from the early 1600s. You'll tour a local winery and do a tasting before heading back to Halifax for a two-night stay.

Lunenburg - Halifax
This morning you'll go to Peggy's Cove for breakfast overlooking one of the world's most photographed lighthouses. Later you'll travel along the South Shore to Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Town famous for its fishing history. A walking tour shows you the colonial architecture, and you'll visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic to learn about the town's maritime heritage.

Charlottetown
Start with a visit to the Millbrook Cultural and Heritage Centre to learn about the Mi'kmaq people. Then you'll cross the Confederation Bridge, the world's longest continuous multi-span bridge, heading to Prince Edward Island. You'll check into Charlottetown for two nights. Tonight there's a theatre performance by local entertainers at the Confederation Centre (depending on schedule).

Prince Edward Island National Park - Charlottetown
The morning is yours in Charlottetown, or you can join an optional walking tour of the birthplace of Canada. In the afternoon you'll explore the North Shore with its red cliffs, white beaches, and sand dunes at Prince Edward Island National Park. You'll visit Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place, the setting from Lucy Maud Montgomery's novels. A traditional lobster supper gives you a taste of Maritime hospitality this evening.

Cape Breton Highlands National Park - Baddeck
Today features the Cabot Trail, one of North America's great drives, winding around Cape Breton's rocky northern shore and climbing into Cape Breton Highlands National Park. You'll stop at scenic lookouts along the rugged coastline. The Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site teaches you about the inventor who made his home on the island.

Baddeck to Port aux Basques
You'll explore the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, a detailed reconstruction representing one-fifth of the 1744 New France settlement. After that, you'll travel to North Sydney and board the Marine Atlantic ferry for an overnight crossing to Port aux Basques in Newfoundland.

Port aux Basques to Port au Choix
You'll disembark this morning and head through the Codroy Valley and Gros Morne National Park. The landscape here is really something. Later you'll reach Port au Choix, a fishing community where you can learn about ancient cultures that inhabited this peninsula for 5,500 years on Newfoundland's northwest coast.

Port au Choix to L'Anse au Clair
You'll board a ferry from St. Barbe across the Strait of Belle Isle to Labrador this morning. Red Bay National Historic Site is your destination, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Basques operated a whaling station back in the 16th century. You'll spend the night in Labrador.

L'Anse au Clair to St. Anthony
Today you'll return to Newfoundland and travel to L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site, the world's first UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is where Vikings were over a thousand years ago. You'll continue to St. Anthony for the night.

St. Anthony to Cow Head
The morning brings a whale-watching boat tour off St. Anthony's coast (weather permitting). You'll have chances to spot minke whales, humpbacks, and white-sided dolphins. Later you'll head to Cow Head in Gros Morne National Park for two nights. If you're traveling in June or early July, keep an eye out for large icebergs.

Gros Morne National Park
You'll spend the day in Gros Morne National Park, starting with a scenic boat tour on Bonne Bay where bald eagles are frequently spotted near the fjord. The Tablelands is next, a flat-topped mountain made of rock that normally sits deep in the Earth's mantle. The views here are really exceptional for Eastern Canada. Another night in Cow Head.

Cow Head to Gander
As you leave Gros Morne, keep your camera ready. You'll drive through Central Newfoundland to Gander, a town that inspired the Broadway musical 'Come From Away.' The story centers on the remarkable kindness residents showed when 38 airplanes made unexpected landings during September 11, 2001. The North Atlantic Aviation Museum displays artifacts about Gander's role in transatlantic aviation history.

Gander to Clarenville
You'll take a scenic drive along Notre Dame Bay's rugged coast to Twillingate. There you'll explore the Long Point Lighthouse and the Prime Berth Fishery and Heritage Centre. Keep your camera handy for wildlife as you pass through Terra Nova National Park on the way to Clarenville.

Bonavista - Trinity - Clarenville
A day trip from Clarenville takes you to two historic towns. You'll start in Bonavista, where John Cabot first landed in North America in 1497. The Cape Bonavista Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site tells the challenging stories of lighthouse keepers. Later you'll go to Trinity with free time to walk through the streets and see 18th-century buildings that are beautifully preserved. Back to Clarenville for the night.

Clarenville to St. John's
You'll travel to St. John's, North America's oldest city and Newfoundland's capital, set among the granite cliffs of the Avalon Peninsula. You'll stay two nights here.
